PoW seems to be popular in this FC. Since only the tie has to be soporific, I've tried to liven things up somewhat. To prevent everyone falling asleep, I hope...

Today's tie is as soporific as I (or the House of Charvet) get - you want anything more soporific, take an Ambien . . .

Feel free to DQ if deemed too energetic for this thread; it's about as sober a tie as I own, seems consistent with other entries so far, and I think it's perfectly respectable but I don't think I've ever read the soporific tie thread so it may be that SF has a more extreme definition. By the way, it's an interesting choice of word. When I'm feeling particularly & deliberately pretentious I've been known to refer to what we now tend to call hypnotic (or sedative) drugs by their older class name of soporifics. It's mildly entertaining to note colleagues' reaction to the semi-archaic term. I can only assume its use herein to label ties is similarly self-awarely ironic!

Señor Crust and Holdfast are certainly soporific by their standards, but I'm not sure they'd pass muster in the thread.

currently trending ITT: ties that are not quite truly soporific.

That's my answer then! Of course, I have the usual shepherd's check, glen plaid, black and navy grenadines etc. but I usually think of soporific ties as being not too busy, repetively small-patterned silks with a minimum of colour variation. And I really don't have any of those amongst my 50-odd ties. So I guess I don't have a proper entry for this challenge...

FlyingMonkey, if the tie is the same as in your WAYWRN post today, I think it qualifies.

I think all posts so far would qualify, but some were superiorly soporific, others, not as much.

Holdfast, you're gone my friend. My apologies.

Monkey, i'll allow that if you want to re-post it.

I'll be sitting the challenge out unfortunately as it's Friday morning already and with the end of the financial year looming I'm chained to the desk for the next 2 days, and quite open necked as a result.

    Keep the entries coming.

That's quite alright. I'm happy with it just being a WAYWT...
