WTF are you dudes complaining about. I'm so far back, I don't even see the dust from when you raced ahead.

MJ, your photos are your biggest handicap. Mediocre lighting and only closeup shots don't show off your clothes to their full effect. Without a full fit pic there's no way to tell if your clothes fit you well or not, and that's a big component of these challenges.

It's not fair, in some respects, that these challenges should be photography contests as much as they are style contests. But they are.

FWIW, I like your fit very much and I'm jealous of some of your pieces there.

well, aside from the photography contest aspect, without a full fit showing how everything looks together, and showing how well the items fit, its hard to garner votes.

Ok, thanks. I'm pickin' up what you're puttin' down there, O.

"Buys expensive camera (to me)... Fails contest due to lack of photography skills."

I actually don't mind the photography aspect. If Stitch has an iPhone and does well, I should be able to do alright with a Micro 4/3's.

Next time will be better. Although it may be a few months. I'm going to be busy and broke, all at the same time.

I don't think it's the "photography" aspect that counts for this contest, but rather the fact that clothes show off better on a pic with good lighting. Should be obvious, and I don't think that turns it into a photography contest...

this is VERY true. i take all my pics in natural light, and even so i adjust the contrast, brightness and saturation in photobucket. the more true to life the fit and colors are, the better the pic will look, and the better ones chances of looking good, and by default, getting votes.

assuming the fit is good of course. the best pics in the world wont save a crappy looking outfit. that still is the foundation. its about being able to show the good fit you have, to the best of your capabilities. getting good pics is not easy, but there is no undervaluing its importance in fit pics.

Congratulations, Clags. And what do you have planned for this upcoming Friday Challenge? I fear that it will be one that I will not have the chance in which to compete. I'm getting on a plane for the Pacific Northwest Friday evening for eight nights away from work, NYC, and most of my wardrobe.

glad to do that again, but we kind of did that before not too long ago, with the addition of a required red tie.
