Did someone say ... FOP! My first reaction when I think of him. To be fair, I am also aware that he is often very well turned out.

If you lend credibility to carrying an umbrella and dressing like an idiot, then yes

i read through his book once. it was absolutely dreadful, a rehashing of already widely known advice sprinkled with his own bad advice and poor pictures taken by his mom or someone. stick to holding umbrellas douche.

Just 'cause you all can't dress as well as he does not make him a douche.

    Haters.

He tries too hard. He takes "style" and makes it something it's not.

Style is something that is suppose to be seamless. It's suppose to be a part of you that appeals to others, yet something that nobody can put their finger on- it just blends in to your persona and makes you stand out without being distracting.

I think he is very dandy. Of course, very eccentric but not anymore so than say Label King, who probably tries harder than anyone else. At least Bentley is in the music/entertainment industry and has an excuse to be over the top. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Right. Which why you're on a 'style' forum. Sound pretty effortless to me.

He dresses better than 99% of the guys out there. Yes, he clowns around, but usually his outfits are nice. Take some Bentley style and mix it with some Bryan Gumbel for nice on/off stage look.

I'll bet that if he posts on the WAYWN section he'd be an instant hit.

while we all like the idea of spontaneity or sprezzatura, it is exceeeding rare.

Why don't we see a picture of your outfit?

Bentley is a very knowledgeable and stylish dresser.
The immediate reaction from the forum is to dismiss his kind, but the man knows all the rules and chooses to break them at will, like a stylish man should. In case SF did not know, he worked at the RL mansion and was Flusser's apprentice. Even if you don't like Flusser, you have to admit that the man is wealth of knowledge and there is no reason to assume it was not passed to Bentley.

He definitely is a better dresser than his ex boss Diddy.

If he posted that pic of him with the umbrella I'd say the same thing. He looks stupid in half of his pictures, have you seen him on TV?

I'm not quite sure what my outfit has to do with this matter.

He makes some good choices and some really bad ones. I feel as though he tries too hard most of the time.

Sharp dresser. A tendency to go a little overboard in the full dandy category, but there is no doubt that he has a good sense of style. Even if his style wouldn't necessarily fit everyone and every profession. Andre, him and Kanye are the best dresser in hip hop world IMO. Jay comes right after - a bit more conservative and less daring.

He also has a genuine passion for clothes and that's something we usually value here, no?
