Excess fabric on back of suit jacket

I noticed on one of my jackets that there is excess fabric along the back, such that there what I might call "excess drape" along the shoulder blades and in between the shoulder blades (but mainly right along the shoulder blades closer to where the back meets the shoulder seams). The chest of the jacket fits perfect, as does the waist, the shoulders, etc.

Why is there excess fabric in the back then if all these other things fit perfectly? Is it just a function of too much fabric along the back? Could the armholes be too wide (they are nice, high armholes, but are a bit wider horizontally than other jackets I have)? Could the shoulders be too wide (I don't think this is the problem)?

I am thinking about taking it to a good tailor and maybe have the backseam taken in an inch. I figured that might cure the problem. The jacket looks great, feels comfortable, and is great even with this little problem, but it would be a perfect jacket without the problem.
