I would dry clean because of the fusibles.

Actually, before I throw this thing in the wash, I wanted to get some input on whether or not I actually need to wash it.

A few drops of beer were spilled on it. It left a wet spot for about 15 minutes, then dried up without leaving a stain or smell. It looks and smells like it never happened, but I'm wondering if there could be any long term issues not cleaning it.

I have the last FW BDU in Olive herringbone. One of my all time favorites, I like the green for the army BDU look. I have it with me on vacation right now and it's done amazing from the beach to a wedding rehearsal.

Just got a recent issue of 2nd in the post today. A sort of special edition called Fashion Director's file with great features on Daiki, Nigel Cabourn and a few other greats. Got it through lightning and cluth's website: http://www.lightningclutch.com/Fashion-Directors-File.html. Here's a quick pic. Sorry if it's already been posted.

Any of those guys know of potential outfits for the SS16 Black Denim Bedford? I've seen it modeled by the guys at Independence but haven't seen any other pics, even when looking through the "Show how you roll in EG" thread. I was planning on picking one up and wearing it to a Broadway show next week during a band trip to play at Carnegie but even casual outfit ideas would be great. Thanks guys

honestly I always think of the bedford as a jean jacket since I don't really wear a sportcoat. helps in this case that it's actually ~made~ of denim. I'd probably style it with something simple - white or chambray shirt maybe, and some beat up jeans or casual pants (in the EG world slimmer fatigues and 5 pockets make the most sense to me.

the fabric is washed and crinkly so I'm not sure it will work as a "formal" piece; up here the dress code is never all that strict so my wool herringbone bedford gets a lot of mileage, even in the shirt & tie circuit (wool tie, nothing that glossy).

Thanks for the reply! For me, dressing up for the Broadway show is just a button down with chinos and something other than chucks or bostons so in that case, this Bedford would definitely fit the bill. I was just looking for something that I could wear with a button down and pants that aren't jeans that won't look out of place if I also wanted to wear it in a casual setting.

Yeah the bedford is perfect for that role. Give me a shout if you need any measurements! we've got a handful of that denim iteration.

going for my second EG piece, was curious to know any opinions on the lightweight highcount twill fabric? where i live, it's pretty warm, so it would fit well into the temperature here, however, I don't know how flimsy or strong the fabric is. although being lightweight, is it substantial enough that it's durable and longstanding with extended wear? i have the EG olive bedford in ripstop, which i absolutely love, so have been eyeing a different model jacket of theirs in the Baker for something i can perhaps dress up a bit more with.

It will disintegrate exponentially up to the 36th wear after which you will be back to owning one EG jacket

How does the BDU jacket (in high count broadcloth) fit this year?

I typically wear a L in workshirts and 19th century buttondowns, but for a jacket I like enough room to layer a sweatshirt or lightweight down vest/sweater underneath. I'm thinking XL is my best choice, but my local retailers are sold out of L and XL so I can't go try it on.

Just picked up this seasons aviator for cooler evenings. Went with a small, but am undecided of how this jacket should ideally fit. Feels good on, but sits kind of high on the waist.

    Edit: excuse my messy room.
