I did for my shearling Galways, and yes, it darkens the leather. But no fear of water stains and salt anymore.

Also used tarrago nano protector for the shaft suede

The pic taken right after the applying of snoseal (not a thin layer, but 2 applications with fan). Afterwards they lighten a bit, but are still darker than initial.

^Interesting that the natural colour of your boots is significantly lighter than mine when I first got them.

I used Obenauf's LP on them last winter and there were no snow or salt issues and they were one of my pairs of snow boots.

Interestingly enough, they're now slightly lighter now than before I treated them...

The grey shows a tiny bit with pant leg, feel like it could work where a black captoe would but thoughts?

Yes, very much so.The suede brings it down in formality just a hair and the visible eyelets even more so, but still I would use it with a semi-formal attire. I have the same model incoming in Dark Oak/Mink Suede, it's such a nice boot. Have had my eyes on Epsom for so long, finally I could not resist it.

sdolina - thanks for the info and pics. I don't think I'd want to darken my Galways that much - I love the contrast with the pebble grain shaft too much - but I might try the product on another pair of boots first to see the effect.

Nanoprotector does work wonders with suede.

Korshak's web site has a few EG models on sale for 1/2 price, so around $550.

Of course it can. Semi-formal.

Thanks for the viewpoints, what about interviews in more conservative industries? Say banking or management consulting?

Recent damage from the Jermyn St. sale. Alderley in Black Country Calf, 202 last, HAF sole:

Thanks to SF member Jagger_On for the tip-off in this thread.

My only pair of dress boots in black, therefore filling a gap in my rotation. Well, that's my self-justification for another purchase :embar:

There was another pair of the above boot in 10.5E 202, if my memory isn't failing me.
Also if you are a 10E UK in the 82 last there is a Galway in Dark Oak/Mink Suede - this was still available as of yesterday. I managed to restrain myself and not get my 4th Galway.

Those are amazing. Most likely my next MTO is same specs except with Dainite soles

I am working on Alderley group MTO in Rosewood country calf. Are you set on the Black Country calf?
