It's a variation on the Halifax (Dover boot) which has been a staple in the EG catalogue for yonks.

Standard configuration of the Halifax is four pairs of eyelets. The RLPL one has three so the boot opens a bit wider in the lower section to show more tongue. Like many of the RLPL designs, just a slight variation of the original design.

My issue with RL in the US is that the width here is typically "D" and it is too narrow. Any experience ordering from RL via the website/retail stores across the pond where I think they typically stock E widths?

Almost bought the Halifax a couple of years ago but it was in D so I had to pass.

Trying to get the ball rolling on a new GMTO for Galways. We've done two so far; DOAK/Walnut Country Calf and DOAK/Mink Suede. What will be next?

Almond Country Calf?
Burgundy/Berry Suede?
Rosewood Country Calf`?
Chameleon/Green Suede?

I personally would like to stay in the browns so almond country calf with preference towards the uppers being some smooth calf leather and the shaft in some pebble grain... something in a tan colorway?

Leaves-

What about a Rosewood Country Calf Boot on the 64 last? Or perhaps even something shearling lined? I prefer Veldtschoen construction and the 64 last for Galways.

Do you think you could get EG to do a Shannon on the 888? I think that would be very popular here. It is the right last for the boot, but we have been told EG will no longer do it.

How about rosewood or burgundy with complementary smooth calf shaft and shearling lining? Perfect winter boot.
