Unless I'm massively misinterpreting the GMTO idea here, at least as pertains to Cappelli, it would not be picking one tie for X amount of people.

Perhaps a better way to say would be to view it as a large order (presumably w/different ties, widths, lengths) going to one hub so as to reduce the burden of the shipping fee.

Hello, the shirt is from Avino, the is obviously Cappelli but since there were many people asking him for the tie, I heard today that he ran out of stock.

    Thanks

Has Patrizio asked to sign you on to his ad campaign yet? You've sold me on a least a few of his offerings.

Jajajajaj I am glad it helped you to decide.

Maybe it's important to clarify that I have no commercial relationship with EG Cappelli, I am just a supporter of his work, since the quality and the service he delivers are at a very high standard.

I would hope it was clear to everyone that I was not suggesting that you had any sort of commercial interest in the company. I've simply admired your posts for some time.

Can anyone here speak to the difference of wearing a 3-fold vs 5-fold silk from patrizio ?

I've got my eye on one in particular that comes either way, but with a $40 difference in price.

    I like patrizio's silk ties as a 5-fold...just my 2 cents.

Do you mind sharing the details (product#) of this tie, Cleav? It looks lovely.

On another note, I just wanted to reaffirm what great customer service Patrizio offers. I've ordered two ties (Drake's silk) from Patrizio. But since I'm out of town I told Patrizio that I can't make a payment until friday. He was absolutfels fine with that, made the ties, and has shipped the ties to my address although I wont make a payment until I arrive at home in two days. He took the initiative and offered to ship them before payment so I would have them available upon arrival. :bigstar:

I know there're some great vendors on here, but I can't imagine anyone would offer this kind of service. He haven't even sent me an invoice through PayPal, just told me the total.

EDIT: On the 3- vs. 5-folds debate, given the same construction/lining I prefer 3-folds. My experience is that Cappelli's 5-folded ties become to heavy if they're lined, often showing the top of the collar band above the tie knot. I'm not a fan of this.

Thanks man, it is a seven fold. #A47.

I've just checked and I can't find it so assuming it's gone. You could try Patrizio via email to see if he has any left?

Whilst searching there were some similar... ZZZP10, ZZZP15, BO1

    Best,

    Cleav

3-fold on top, 6-fold below. (Not quite the question asked, but perhaps helpful.)

Just to clarify, is there any reason why these should differ in the size of the knots just because of difference in number of folds (3 vs 5)?

Isn't the extra fabric of the 5-fold confined to the blades without running up into the area that will be knotted? So, any differences will more be at the width of the tie at that point, i.e. how wide it is cut, the material, and the interlining (e.g. Patrizio might use a lighter interlining with 5)?

Edit: these are six folds I guess versus three
