I still don't think this is true. Fos5 had the straight svens dry for $155 and I believe i emailed ...

    Yeah, I second that.

And Nudies homepage is about as updated as the Pope is on the latest in porn.

ok, so i've been reading around here, superfuture and my nudies and i'm pretty sure this is right. there are apparently 4 dry versions . . .

    1. Straight Svenska Limited Edition -- made of streaky dry selvage. read about 6 articles down here

    2. Old Straight Sven Dry Selvage -- made of the same dry selvage as RRDS as seen here

    3. New Straight Sven Dry Selvage -- made of the streaky 'flame' dry selvage seen here

    4. Straight Sven Dry -- made of the same denim or similar to the stiff dry denim that Flare Glenns used to be made of like these. notice how they they don't look soft and grainy like ola's and aren't as molded to the body like new ola's are . . .

There's never been non-selvage versions of dry Regular Ralfs and Straight Svens, even though the Limited Edition and the new one use much softer fabric.

Actually, I'm wearing them now [IMG]

Interesting (I thought you might were referring to the streaky one earlier). Well, let's hope the quality holds up to the old SSDS. That was one of Nudie's best jeans imo.

Well, I tried on the SS Dry in the streaky wash today, and it fit perfectly. In the salesman's opinion, the 32/32 was the right fit, as the waist was pulling just a little around the button, and the leg was just long enough that I could lose an inch or so. Also, this being a true straight leg, it didn't look ridiculous the way the ES Fulton does on me. Despite what others have said, I thought that the streaky denim was really nice looking. Now it's just a matter of justifying the $265.

I think you will save some money using oipolloi.com. European prices and ships to the US!

I looked at them, and they had good prices, just one small problem: they only had a 32/34, and I am a 32/32. If at all possible, I like to avoid hemming jeans, as I don't like the look as much, even when the originals are used. I was able to find a source that has the regular dry Svens that aren't selvage, for $155, so I might end up going that route. I also learned today that Rag and Bone will begin using my favorite of their denims in the RB6 in August, so saving some money on a less expensive pair of Svens might not be a bad idea.

I suppose I should also ask how much shrinkage I should expect lengthwise, before I decide what length to get. I always wash cold and hang to dry. Thanks.

Usually about 1 1/2 inches in length, maybe a little less if you do a cold/cold wash. If they seem like they might shrink up too much then you could always NOT wash em.

I have the streaky dry svens in a 31-32 and my natural waist is a 32. I had heard there super streachy and strech out like 3 sizes in the waist but i have not had that problem yet. I usually buy a 34 and cuff them up and to combat shrinkage but with my other nudies i havent run into that problem, usually the 34 i still have to cuff after washing.

    Mr. Bond,
How do you like the streaky flame denim? I'm tempted to get a pair, but I'm afraid that the streaks will be too much in person and that it will clash with my shirts. Also, how long have you had yours for and how is the fading coming along?

So I should expect that even if I don't put them in the dryer? I am wondering if I should buy a 34 length instead, because when I tried them on yesterday, it looked like I had at most an inch to play with (I like them to stack a bit on my boots, too).

Yeah, definetly dont put them in the dryer. If thats the case go with the 34's and probably size down one or two on the waist if you like them fitted and not overly baggy. Jeans that are a little bit longer and cuffed look alot better IMO then jeans that are too short and show alot of sock when you sit down. Im 5'8 and i have a pair of Regular Ralfs in a 34 length, i put them in the dryer after hangdrying them but while they were still damp and i now have about 1 1/2 - 2 inches to cuff up or bag at my shoes. My svens are a 32 length and right now unwashed have about 2 inches cuffed up but im uncertain as to wash them in cold/cold and let hang dry which im sure will result in a little shrinkage or to just never wash them so i dont have the short pants problem. After all 250$ is a bit much for a pair of pants that ends up being to short. hope that helps a bit for your decision.

It may just lead me to buy another pair of Rag and Bones, which shrink very little due to the resin coating, or so I'm told, as I've yet to wash mine.

Yeah, i guess it justs comes with the territory of dry denim. You always have to guess as to whether a jean will strech out in the waist too much or shrink in lenght too much. I'm on my third pair of Regular Ralphs now. Gave my first pair away(33-34), second pair are still too baggy and sit in my closet, these are the ones i put in the dryer whilst still a little damp(32-34), and now my third pair is on the way(30-34). Now after 750$ i have found the right pair, unbelievable huh? Well i have amased about 10 pairs of Raw denim and im now going to strictly buy washed jeans for a while.

I think one-wash denim is great for this reason. Look out for the new Rag and Bone RB6 that will be out in August. It uses the super heavy RB1 denim, and looks and feels just about raw. However, it's resin coated, so you probably won't see much fluctuation in size.

Since flare glenn will be discontinued they made this years flare glenn with ola denim, and that's it I believe.
For anyone interested, it seems like Yoox has put up last fall's Flare Glenn with the standard dry denim: http://www.yoox.com/item.asp?rr=1&co...5371N&areaid=8 I wonder if the old SSDS will show up as well[IMG]

h ok so, i finally gave in and bought a pair of nudies today. i got the straight svens in the first generation mass produced dry selvage model (the same selvage that RRDS is made of). a guy in germany is selling them on ebay for $220 (price includes shipping). there are a few more sizes left so if you want to hop on that band wagon better do it quick.

on the other hand . . . the nudie site lists a 'dry japanese selvage' for F/W. i'm guessing they brought the SS in the RRDS denim back, or that's a typo and its really sposed to be just regular dry svens. i dunno . . .

Is it wrong or not? I've been getting such positive feedback on wearing my Nudies, I may drop the cash on a new pair of SSDS (flame denim).

While on the topic - is the sizing on these ones about equal to Ralfs? The shop has 28s but not 30s. I can probably manage the 28s, but I'm just checking. If luck is on my side, they're a little larger in the waist than Ralfs, but I'm assuming they're equal.
