I recently bought a shoe care kit that includes standard stuff and several brushes. One of the brushes is a 6-inch-long horsehair brush (a polish brush), one is a 1-inch patch of bristles with a handle (I assume a polish applicator), one is 4 inches long with stiffer bristles, and one is 4 inches long with horsehair on the outside and wire on the inside. I can't figure out what the last two are for - what do I do with them?

    Stiffer bristles... Pre-shine cleaning.
My guess on the wire bristles... Suede.

The dauber is sometimes used during polishing to get excess polish out of brogueing.
