I'm looking for a slim raw denim jacket. I've narrowed it down to one of two Naked and Famous jackets or a Levi's one:

    or

    http://tateandyoko.com/Jackets/Naked-Famous-Denim-Jacket-Natural-Indigo-Selvedge.html

What's the difference between those two? If it's just color, then why is there a $60 price difference?

    or Levi's:

Is the Levi's raw but not selvedge?

    Which would you go with?

What makes the Natural Indigo worth $60 more? They're both raw selvedge, right?

    It's dyed with natural indigo.

I know you said raw indigo but damn... look at this beaut. Fell in love with the Filson x Levis collab the moment I saw it a while back, especially this black oil finish, hopefully I can get my hands on one before it's discontinued, I'll buy one used if I have too, it's beautiful and I bet it feels bullet proof coming from those two American companies with pride in maintaining old school heritage.

    mmmmmf, I'd kill for one.

Personally I have a vintage flannel lined Levi's trucker that's sort of a drop shoulder/over sized fit and I love it. Wish the chest/upper arms were a bit slimmer but the front/back length and sleeve length are absolutely perfect. There's nothing wrong with the fit, it's a perfect classic fit, I just wish it was a bit slimmer. No clue when it's from, I'd guess late 70s though.

I didn't get to wear it from the start and watch it fade to what it is today but I love the look. I feel like a darker denim jacket would be harder to wear just because I don't have light colored pants I'd wear with one. Light is better for me as all my pants I wear with it are dark colors. For the record, fuck double denim, even raw on raw, Texas Tuxedos are only good for function, just about always looks trashy regardless IMO.

I only do it when I absolutely don't give a fuck. I think the last time I rocked the double d was when I was completely out of my head on acid.

I still knew it looked like shit, I just didn't care because this jacket is like a portable home and it just felt right at the time. I needed to wear it for all the pockets as they seemed crucial to my well being at the time, that way I could carry all the stuff I wanted to have on me for the rest of my trip.

Seemed like my only option at the time, some of you will know what I mean, Lucy urges can be strange, unexplainable notions that you must fulfill or face perpetual discontent, dun dun duuun!

By perpetual I mean until the end of your trip of course...

Anyway here's a fit from a couple weeks ago, I wear this combination all the time. I'll wear it multiple days in a row just with a different shirt, I could wear just this stuff for the rest of my life if I had to. It's functional, each piece is rugged and obviously, I think it looks cool.

I've looked into slim truckers before but this is my preferred style of denim jacket and this one is from when Levi's made everything in the USA still which is always a plus for me. I know you were asking about the ones you posted but I'd say none of those, I like the 2 I posted better.

If I HAD to pick one, blanket lined b/c Made in USA and it's slim fit yet is lined which adds some bulk which is good b/c I think too slim of a fit in a denim jacket makes guys look too feminine, but I don't like the lining at all still. Don't get me wrong I wear plenty of slim/super slim fitting garments, just denim jackets aren't meant to be that way IMO but that one looks to be a happy medium.

Going for the whole James Dean/Martin Sheen look here, white t is classic fit with longer sleeves than what you typically find these days, that way I can roll them for a real authentic vintage look. Nothing super expensive, but Stafford undershirts are probably about triple the weight of the cheap ass, see through shit Hanes is putting out nowadays. I'd say they're just about on par with what you'd expect from AA but then you're paying $20 each for only minimal improvement vs. the $20 for 3 Stafford's, which isn't really even that bad and totally worth it. Even more worth it with how I wear them as a regular shirt and not just under button ups, relative cost is pretty low from that perspective. I feel like they're a crucial part of completing the vintage look I'm going for, and the jacket I have is a real vintage piece and I think that makes it work together even more.

Turns out I was right on my guess to when it's from. Searched the style number, found this. Late 70s - early 80s.
