Darker but same color tie as shirt?

Does this tie go well considering it is a darker shade of pink than the shirt and not a contrast color?

Planning to wear this with white trousers on a day summer event.

    Will this work?
    What are the better options?

Not really, too similar and as for white trousers with that coat, have another go!

I'm going to move this to Menswear Advice, where this might get a few more eyes who are focused on giving this type of advice.

I have to agree with GBR, white trousers with that jacket isn't right. You'd want to wear something a bit more vibrant with white trousers...something with more of a spring/summer feel. If you can, I'd wear a blue/navy tie with light grey trousers and a light blue shirt.
