Well I did it. I order a custom pair of classic work boots from whites. Maybe 5 weeks until I get them? Just put the order forms in the mail today.

did not realize there was like a U shape bottom, was odd at first but feels fine. looks like it'll take a week or two to break in

what did you get again? Not sure what you mean by "u shaped bottom", can you elaborate. Also, post pics when you get a chance.

black chromexcel, natural sole, half commando, block heel (lowered 1/4), antique hardware.

dislike the laces that came with them, any suggestions?

I think that U shape is due to the lowered heel. I could be wrong, but look at the photo comparison earlier in the thread.

ok, I see now. Don't think that has anything to do with the lowered heel, just the way they are. My double leather soled SDs have the same shape to them. Good looking boots, not a huge fan of the lowered heel myself, but it really doesn't look too bad there. Love the 1/2 commando sole, that is nice!

im used to flat shoes and wear as minimal as i can usually, had to try to stay with a lower heel

yeah, White's w/ standard heels have some serious arches going on...takes some getting used to so I can see where the lowered heel could be a good option if you like a flatter feeling boot.

^White's makes the best leather laces I've ever felt, that is a nice option. I don't mind the stock Semi-Dress laces myself however, that is what I use on mine still.

The nylon laces would`ve been nicer if waxed.

    skuirtgun, knucks: nice boots!
