I'm a 24-year old guy and I'll be wearing a tuxedo to an awards show this week. I really like the look of braces (suspenders). Am I supposed to wear a cummerbund when wearing braces/suspenders? Also do people recommend white or black braces? And should the cummerbund (if I'm supposed to wear one?) be the same color as the braces/suspenders? Thanks!

Traditionally, your waist should be covered by a vest, double breasted jacket or a cummerbund whether you wear braces or not.

If you wear a cummerbund it should match your tie and jacket lapels.

Finally, either black or white braces are fine with black tie. And since the white ones appeared on James Bond they greatly outsell the black.

There really shouldn't be a "look" to suspenders w/ black tie, as they should be completely covered by your vest and/or jacket. One of the tenets of black tie is to hide the "working parts."

If you do go with suspenders, just don't get clip-ons. Make sure they attach to the pants via buttons.

Yes. Wear pink if you want. No one is going to see them unless you take home a waitress.
