I was quoted £475 (i.e. standard retail) + £250 for a single MTO with a 6-8 week turnaround. That was for a version with a full bellows tongue, although to be honest I was expecting a price increase for that. Presumably a GMTO will take longer, but I don't know. From what I understand the zug leather won't attract any additional costs.

I can give you a better answer once we've seen the leather and finalised the spec.

If we get a batch of 12 made I assume the price would be close to £475. Maybe a bit more due to the full bellows tongue.

There's been some discussion on the regular C&J thread about a Snowdon GMTO.

The spec isn't finalised yet, but if possible will be

  • Zug leather (waiting to hear from factory on availability)
  • Full bellows tongue
  • speed hooks
  • Commando > ridgeway > dainite sole
  • possible faux cap-toe
  • possible full lining (if it can be done)

Shearling (a la Turner Twins) was mentioned, but it seems the majority don't want this, and again may not be possible.

Please shout with preferences, to be added/removed from the list...

UPDATED added Handcuffed / chocol8max
UPDATED added PartagasIV

Still adding people to this by any chance? If so put me down. I'd be very happy with shearling if possible. Cap toe would be excellent too. I'd prefer no speedhooks, but I doubt many would agree with me there.

A mate of mine is interested too but lurking for now.

This 'zug' leather is heavy enough to make the boot unlined but I'm not too fussed either way.

As for my preferances:

- waterproof grain (the new 'zug') I heard a pic of the stuff will be posted tomorrow.
- full bellows
- speed hooks
- commando
- faux cap toe
- no (fur) lining

Sure, shearling is not possible though. Yes, think you're in the minority with 'no speed hooks'!

I've had a couple of PMs from interested people too

I'd be very happy with that spec

Any idea yet as too how many of these boots they might be able to make? Is there any limit?

I did ask if there was a limit or a discount for a larger number. I was told that there is no discount, but they didn't mention a limit. I suspect not, will probably just take longer, but I'll drop an email and confirm

Agree on this spec. Is it either full leather or no leather lining? Or is there also option to line but not the shaft? If people think no lining will not impact the weatherproofing then I'm ok with that.

Spec sounds great to me, I also have no preference for the lining or not lined, as long as it will not effect the water resistance of the boot. Is the full bellows an option? If so, that would be fantastic. I hope this does go through, as its my dream snowdon.

My assumption was that 'full lining' included the shaft, otherwise it would be as the standard Snowdon with an unlined shaft
