Interesting, I am also TTS (10.5D) on AE 5 last. Barrie 10D. I am waiting my 10D Alden CXL boots on barrie. Hope they fit okay.

From what you're describing you sound more like a 9.5 Brannock. I am also a 9D Brannock, but take my AE 5 last in 9D, and Marlow Wingtips and Pennies in 8.5D. This shows how different feet can be. I guess it's also how comfortable people's feet feel in different sizes.

Maybe. My only pair of Alden shell are the 975s, which are the chunky longwings. It could be that these are extra roomy because of their style. That's why I took 8.5 (?).

The gravitational pull of the 9s is strong...

Thanks for posting. Was curious what Ed's shoes would look like. Thought they be darker, or is it just the picture.

They're all the same. The ones I received directly from RL were that light too.

    Interesting ...

    I measure 9.5 on Brannock. I take AE 5 last in 9.

Hmm, must be how the new ones are or the flash. Mine are darker than that.

It is an indoor flash pix so they lightened up a bit. Probably a little bit darker.

I can get my foot in a 9d 5 last shoe, but it is tight. Would be doable with some thin sox but it would be an uncomfortable break in period.

(sorry about the multiple replies, but multi quote is being difficult)

These are amazing. Go hit up eddieddr's B&S thread and check if he has anything in your size. I like Alden's cordovan finishing but CJ's construction is a step above in my honest opinion. Can't wait for cooler weather to bust these bad boys out.

Received new Marlow Shortwings yesterdY. Impressions... The welt is huge, I like it. Have not yet wiped off the usual amounts of excess oils so color is a punt but I suspect a dark shell batch. I know the shoe, very well constructed Shortwing. Even my wife said "oh those are handsome".:p

^ That's something I really like about C&J - really big storm welts! It looks like you're wearing big f**k-off stompers! It's one of the reasons I'm not an AE lover - when I look at my feet, even in the Dundee's, they look kinda dainty after wearing C&J.

How do you guys get rid of all the bloom that develops in the brogue holes? Tried to brush it out but not working. Go back in with a toothbrush into each individual brogue hole?
