It's been on my radar for some time - I stumbled across his last post yesterday whilst hard at work and managed to get a pair of Marlow wingtips from eddievddr10, who is an absolute gentleman and pleasure dealing with, he even dropped them to near where I work!!

Thanks to DpprDr for your advice on sizing - I've been fortunate to get it spot on, only tried on the right foot - it fits like a glove! Went through this whole thread in less than two days to seek out whether I had made the right sizing choice.I guess I should of tried the other foot but was busy in the office and needed to head straight to B.Nelson after work to get the toe plates added.

    C&J 348 6.5E UK
RL Marlow wingtip 325 7.5D US

Boy I now see what all the hype is about - the most I've ever spent on shoes to date and first ever pair of shell. The leather looks amazing and will look even better after a quick buff up.

:bounce2: Can't wait to get them back however don't think I'll be slipping into these until the fall...pictures will follow next week when I get them back from B Nelson.

Another thumbs up for SF and the wealth of information on here :fonz:

Shoes are meant to be worn. The soles can be replaced and the cordovan buffed. To be honest, I think the boots look better all worn out like that with denim.

Actually impressed whenever anyone wears down double leather soles. Time for a resole!

I think you'd be pleasantly surprised by how tough and resilient shell cordovan can be. Because the initial investment in shell shoes is steep I also was hesitant to wear the crap out of them. A quick wipe with a damp cloth and some vigorous brushing is all that's needed.

put on dainite sole or topyoe then. Cordovan boots are my go to boots for rough situation, rain, snow and mud you name it. They still look great after 4 years of abuse

I would go with the same size. The 325 is slightly narrower but the Lindricks run a tad bigger than the Marlows. Let me say though, that I only own a pair of Marlows, but have tried the Lindricks and several other C&J. Good luck!

Totally know what you mean. I'm wearing shell boots (AS Miller) today but it's always in the 60's where I work so it's not a problem.
