Hi

I just got a pair of shoes in the M&S sale. They arrived looking a lot shinier and uniform than they looked online. My question is - can I treat them somehow to either (a) take the shine away, or (b) add a nice patina?

I've seen acetone and other products used on old shoes that do a great job, just wondering what to do here.

Thanks

Hi

From my experience, acetone works just fine (maybe too well in some cases). If you want to use something made especially fot the job i recommend Sapphir Decapant. But i suggest you try ot first on a piece of leather you wouldn't mind ruining, just too see what the end result might be.
