I bought these at Brooks on Madison (NYC) around 1991. They have been beautifully maintained and polished despite the fact that they were never worn much. I preferred my Aldens PTB's on the Barrie last over these which are on an M58 last. An M58 is essentially a Barrie with a narrower waist and slightly pointier toe. A more refined and elegant look than the more commonly seen Alden PTB on the Barrie last. Also, the M58 last is TTS , so you don't have to size down as on the Barrie. I am essentially a US 8C and these fit OK with thin socks, but definitely more snug than the 7.5D that I usually wear on a Barrie last. If you are a U.S 8-8.5 in need of a B width, look no further!

Please check the soles in the picture as they are original and will show that this shoe has probably been worn no more than 50 times in it's 21 year lifespan!

These still sell at Brooks for $598.
