The Meermin shop had no cute Japanese chicks just a couple of old dudes. They were friendly enough even admired the Jalan Sriwijayas I was wearing.

The shop looks like a bargain bazaar, with a bunch of discount shoes arranged all over the place sorted into Small, Medium, Large. At first I thought "Score! They're having a big sale" But alas all of those shoes were made in India tat. Thin rubber soles and poor quality leather. Some of the soles looked like a fake Dainite, I've seen unbranded Dainite before but these were obviously a cheap copy. I tried on a pair and I could feel the studs poking my feet through the paper thin (probably paper) inslole. You can buy the same crap at any ABC Mart for half the price.

There was a small display of nicer shoes, but they are not made by Meermin, they are made by Carmina for Meermin and were more expensive and no better than the Carmina made and branded shoes at Isetan.

Meermin supposes to have large business with Japanese clients, that sounds unreasonable in comparison with what they offer online and in Spain.

I discovered some meermin shoes at a department store here in Fukuoka. It sure didn´t look like anything I´ve seen here on SF. Actually made me doubt meermin all together, but it might just be how things are in Japan. (They looked super cheap)

Aluminum sheeting is pretty light, lighter than some leathers actually.

I imagine it having all the sturdiness of a coke-can - surely this will get lots of dents/dings in it through daily use?
