Even their regular price barbour stuff is a good deal right now with the BF sale. I picked up the ashby (which is a low $349 at regular price), as well as a made in usa blazer already on sale (I think it is a southwick 3 roll 2). That put me over $500, so 30% off, plus the ebates and paypal cash back promos of 6 and 5 percent respectively.

An ashby at C$210 is an amazing deal, especially here in canada, where getting a barbour usually means either getting Fleeeced at Stollery's or dealing with customs.

Was it that tweed herringbone blazer? I was looking at it, but unfortunately I shouldn't right now. It was $750 and is now $499.

When you do get it, would you mind some fit pics?

About a week, I would think. Happy to report back, but not into fit pics - sorry.

Okay, just pics of the jacket itself would do, to see the colour and how prominent the herringbone pattern is.

Cyber Monday sale is very nice. I picked up max discounts at both CDN and USA webstores. Got a USA-made suit for less than $300. That's a smoking deal in my book.

I got the email this morning saying you could stack discounts up to 80% off but I couldn't see how they got that 80% number.

Even if you buy $500 worth of clearance items that's (30%)^2 or roughly 51% off. That's still a really good deal but where is this 80% number coming from?

    Current discount + 30% sale/clearance + 30% on orders over $500.

It's possible depending on what the items are currently on sale for.

So I bought that MIU Tweed jacket, as it was still available this morning with the stacked discount. Came up to $296 shipped, but in the excitement I forgot to use Ebates which would've knocked another $17 off that.

Will be curious to hear how it fits - I got mine yesterday and the upper block fit well - nice shoulders, high armholes, little padding - but is it so drawn in in the waist that it isn't really wearable, and there doesn't appear to be any extra material with which to let it out. Too bad - it almost had the makings of a nice modern update on a classic sack jacket.

Should get mine soon. Happy that it's returnable.

Haha, I knew someone would respond with that answer. Why so expensive? Never heard of camel hair fabric before..

I don't know. I might not even be right, it might be a fabric that is simply made to "feel/look" like camel hair, but I'm assuming it is actually the hair of a camel.
I'd guess it's expensive because there aren't a ton of camel farms outside of the middle east and it's probably a bitch to shear a camel.

    maybe it's something like Vicuna?

Also, it says Italian Camel Hair, so if my assumptions are correct (and they usually are) then these aren't just any camels, they're Italian camels, and I mean, there can't be all that many of them. It's a Pitti becuase, like most Italians, they're quite sprezzy and they really know how to hump.

If it was vicuna it'd be like $50,000...

    wool comes from a sheep
mohair comes from an angora goat
angora comes from an angora rabbit
cashmere comes from a cashmere goat
cashgora comes from a nigora goat (supposedly a cashmere-angora hybrid)
alpaca comes from an alpaca (like a llama)
vicuna comes from a vicuna (like a softer llama)
camel hair comes from a camel
yak hair comes from a yak

    :foo:

I have a scarf made of 50% camel hair, 50% cashmere, and a sweater from a different label made of 50% camel hair, 50% wool (which is strangely just as soft as the scarf).

Camel hair is a good winter material, usually left in its original colour rather than dyed, but I've seen it in black.
