Almost certainly too narrow from my perspective, but pictures wouldn't hurt.

i'll buck the trend and say—if you're thin it will look good.

    are you thin?

so a #waywt pic might be the only way to ascertain.

but it's not up to me. it's up to you.

and mad men seasons 1-4 were awesome.

It's certainly thinner than I would wear. You'd need a really skinny tie, too.

If I had to wear it I might try it with a sweater but no tie.

    Cheers,

I didn't mean it as a negative judgment. More of an observation. It looks 60s to me.

I'm not thin. I'm 6'4, with a 48 inch chest. When I ordered the jacket, I didn't realize Brooks Brothers made lapels this thin. I like the jacket a lot, but the lapels just seem too thin for my frame. I appreciate the feedback guys; it's going back to BB.

BTW, I love Mad Men, but am not a fan of the skinny ties and ultra-thin lapels.

Yeah, I just don't think it'd work too well for my body type. Plus, my narrowest ties are 3 1/8-3 1/4 inches.

Thin lapels are a trad/ivy classic. Brooks Brothers is a trad/ivy legacy company. Not saying that's why they designed it this way, but it makes sense.

    That's because there's a body in it. ;)
Lapels are too narrow and the weird placement of the buttonhole would bother me.

    Good choice.

My observation is that great classic style is all about knowing your body size and shape and selecting clothing with flattering proportions. However, I also pick up pieces from time to time that are clearly fashion oriented and enjoy them for what they are.

Mid-width lapels allow for a middle ground when fashion takes things to the extreme (in either direction) and rarely push you into cringe territory.

A menswear "safe space", if you will.

Small/large lapels are still fun sometimes, I will admit.
