Like I said, it seems fishy as hell.

Mostly the people who wear them and their branding (limited edition Barcelona etc. watches are corny)

BS like that diminishes the hard work it takes to succeed and gives a false impression of what it takes to do so to the young

    his college
    razzi was his final project
he is not listed as a distinguished alumni, etc., says he was valedictorian, honor grad, etc., (although on his website he claims to be, padding seems to be sop among high tech masters, lol) graduate aug 2011

Back to cars, things have started to change and I need a car.

    Requirements

4x4 (not necessary a SUV), diesel, 4 seats and 350L boot or bigger.

I have been looking at 535xd/640xd, but I'm open for suggestion.

i dont personally value Porsche/VW creations very high..
i think most porsche enthusiasts would agree with me that 914 and 944 isnt very good

I don't think anyone would agree with you
especially Porsche or anyone that knows anything about them
the 951 was faster than the 911's of the era, and the 928 faster than both

    the car has
    48/52 wt balance
    a transaxle
    2800 pounds
    brembo 4 piston x 4
mine has 280 HP and 300 lb ft
gets 30 mpg crusing at 75, top speed (still) 160 mph, mine will do 165 (proven)
has not a spec of rust, every thing still works
    and is 26 years old

btw, VW had little to do with the car, Porsche worked with VW to develope a safe sportscar
Porsche took over and built the 924 with an modified Audi truck/van engine
then Porsche took total control for the 944/968, all new alloy block engine, built by Porsche, even the swithcgear was upgraded
the car cost more than a 911 when new
    the 914/916 are great cars

do not confuse rear engine sentiment with what is the best platform, quaint, but done out of expediancy, not engineering design for a hipo car
Dr. Ing. h.c F. Porsche has some vw bugs lying around after WWII and rebodied them as sportscars
the Boxster/Cayman are mid engines, as was the GT
so were their Lemans cars 956/962, etc.

so before you open your ill-informed and uneducated yapper, think, then don't

right and that is why watercooled 911s are worth big bucks and 944s are worths several grand...
if a 944 is so good then why are watercooled 911s so sought after?
because porsche enthusiasts value those higher
oh yeah, the there is only 1 real porsche and thats the 911

... yeah if i was really into watches instead of cars i'd have a ton of real watches...
but right now, my 3 decent watches - milgauss, planet ocean and ballon bleu serve me quite well for every situation...
i am contemplating to add an IWC to my collection this year

you equate cost with value, that is stupid

which cost more: a casio or a rolex?
which is more durable, functional and accurate

in one year the casio will lose $100 in value, the rolex $1000
even after 10, the casio is worth nothing (but only cost $100, the rolex has lost 2k plus the cost of money)

take the 911 and a 944 Turbo, both same price new, on a track, see which is faster

people will pay money for brittney spears pubic air, doesn't mean it has value
