    Hey guys,

Got into a fender-bender tonight, brake pedal got stuck and i bumped a car at a red light as I was pulling out of a parking lot. I've got a $1000+ deductable, but only $80 to my name. If anyone is feeling generous and wants to send me a little 'holiday cheer' by paypaling a donation to me, I can send you something in exchange for the donation. I'll do pretty much anything for money at this point.

Also, anyone have any (serious) ideas for making a quick thousand+ dollars?

That sucks man, I was actually just in a car accident myself. I only have a $500 deductable, but I have $620 to my name. $9500 worth of damage though.

I'll go ahead and put myself second on the list for donations. If you give VersaceMan $1000, and have that 20 or 30 thousand extra dollars that you don't know what to do with, go ahead and contact me. Or maybe you just don't like VersaceMan, and would rather have a viable alternative...here I am.

Quit stealing my show... Actually, it was my first accident, I feel really horrible about it.  I was only going abotu 10mph, but I was rolling downhill so I shattered her brake light, cracked the bumper and rear quarter panel, and dented up the trunk lid.  I am thinking of paying out-of-pocket to prevent my Ins. from increasing too much.  My friend had similar damages to a similar year car, and he said it was about $4500.  What a rip-off.  $4500 is probably the value of the car (95 corolla). By the way, paypal at ekriebe@uwm.edu in case Kalra or any other wealthy forum-ers would like to help a guy out  [IMG]

Sorry buddy, I just couldn't resist. [IMG] I just happened to smash into the back of a late model VW Jetta or Passat going about 30-35 MPH completely mangling the front of my car, tweaking my back and neck for a few days, and bruising my legs up. I didn't end up hitting the airbags, which I saw go off in what seemed like slow motion, otherwise my face would probably be a little worse for the wear. I seem to be ok, and lucky for me - either I hit a stolen car, or the driver was drunk or something, because he/she took off immediately after the accident. Soooo... hit and run on them, no ticket for me. Hope your car gets fixed. Mine should be ready in about a week or so. Good luck.

Dont feel that bad...My Mom was in a fender bender with a car that was easily 20 years old and parts were held together with Duct tape. (No kidding)... They sued for 25 Grand for the car and 6 Million in damages, 1 Million of it was personal injury, the next 5 were his wife who saids that when her husband was injured in those days she was deprived of his "services".

Man, talk about a commercial for Viagra...

That sucks about getting into car accidents. If it makes you feel any better, when I was driving a new car, I got into 3 random accidents within 4 months.

If you're on a college campus, try to see if there are any psychology subjects needed. Sometimes, they pay you over $10/hr even though the experiment doesn't last an hour. For one study, I kept subjecting myself to the same tests until it paid for a new axle. It probably permanently damaged my olfactory senses, but I needed the money.

I'm not sure, but I think extracting platelets might be more painful.

If you do sell your little guys, you probably might want to puff up your attributes. I'm assuming that a ivy league person's stuff would be more coveted, and therefore valuable, than somebody from a community college.

Volunteer for a clinical study. Check hospitals. Some pharmaceutical companies will pay you thousands.

Why not check to see if there are any opportunities for mystery shopping in your area? Many of them pay $10-20 and take about a half hour to complete. I've been doing a couple a month since August; you get to make a little money and play secret agent at the same time.

    VM,

If the damages aren't that bad, have you considered not reporting this to the insurance company and paying it out of your pocket. Whenever you get into a accident, the insurance rates go up for around 3 years, regardless of how bad the damages were. I'm assuming at your age, car insurance rates would be more expensive. Of course, if you did this, you would need to have them sign a piece of paper releasing you from any liability.
