I am getting married and have picked out a 3 piece light tan linen suit and will be wearing a white shirt with a light coral bow tie. My question is in regard to what kind of shirt to wear. I like the look of a fly front shirt but am not sure if it would go with a waistcoat. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

the shirt will look best with a standard placket front.

I thought fly-front shirts were pretty much for tuxedoes exclusively. Am I mistaken in this?

I would say a fly-front shirt can be used anytime you're wearing a bow tie, whether during the day or in the evening. I recall (from my childhood) the British writer and humorist Frank Muir often wore a bow tie and fly-front shirt. On TV.

the standard fly front will not balance with the bow tie.

you could do a placket fly front.
