Holliday & Brown wool are (or at least recently were) made in Britain the silk ones are Italian. I've a feeling TA's ties are made for them by one of the specialist tie makers, but I can't recall who.

T&A makes its own ties. It used to control Charles Hill, but I think that has now been folded into T&A. There is a lurker here who works in the industry and knows what's what.

I have heard that there are no longer British operations of H&B. There are still a few British tiemakers around -- Drake's, Seaman & Spearm, Peckham Rye, and I believe Cravats of London. There may be others too. I believe that RJ ties are still made in the UK. They are extremely nice. Not sure who makes them.

N&L have some fantastic ties, the best of them are made in Italy though.

Most of Budd's ties were machine made when I visited. So are those at Benson & Clegg. Not a knock, just an observation.

John Comfort made the machine-made ties at H&K, although I believe someone posted that they are now being made in Germany.

There are some ties branded Atkinson's at ties-necktie.com, which has given some ties to AAAC.

Cravats of London make very nice ties. Drakes are the best in my opinion though.

Apparently, they do. At least, they sell ties that are labeled exclusively as 'Atkinson's Irish Poplin'. O'Connell's sells them.

I don't like extremely soft and delicate silk, it's easily pulled with my un-manicured fingers. T&A is good in this sense. Most ***** & Sperm ties were too brightly coloured for my taste.

Was acquired by Mantero along with H&B, which Michelson's owned, back in 2002 or so. I've only seen Michelson's ties in Century 21 after that. Made in China.
