I like the desk.

I agree- I would love to have that chair. As for the briefcase, I prefer a more glossy black leather one.

I don't understand this reply. When you work in government are you prohibited from owning a full length mirror?

I agree that most government guys could look better, but most people just don't care about clothes. By that same token, why isn't everyone on SF worried about being in perfect physical shape? Because working out (even though it makes you look better, much like clothes) is a niche interest, also like clothes.

Not quite a briefcase, but here's a black french calf hold-all I made for my girlfriend recently. I've actually 'borrowed' it a lot the past few weeks, since it's a unisex design. I'll be doing an ostrich & calf version for myself with shorter handles very soon.

The leather is a glossy, full-grain french calf (same tannery Hermes uses for some of their calf), and the lining is a thick red french lamb suede. Zippers are Lampo, and the entire bag is saddle-stitched by hand.

It looks so shiny. What kind of polish was used on this? I'd be afraid it would get on my clothes and such. Looks great though.

You don't really need to polish bridle. I rub it with a cloth and I think it moves the natural oils about.

There's a consensus that Sedgwick bridle leather polish is cheap, and good, especially since they manufacture good quality bridle.

Here you can see a Sedgwicks Light Havana Bridle Butt, on top of a Sedgwicks Light Havana Lacing Hide, I had just received these, lightly brushed them to remove excess greases and wax, in order to examine them for any defects or scratches. I still say that this is the finest leather that I have worked with, and have not yet had any adverse comments back, with regards to the leather soiling customers clothes. Thoroughly agree with this - in fact its quite difficult to polish it in the same way you would with shoes. Sedgwicks own Leatherfeed does a really good job of nourishing the leather and sealing the colour and is a neutral colour itself so much less colour transfer worries than with a coloured shoe cream.
