"From what I've seen/heard Wings + Horns is great. American Apparel makes cheap, decent hoodies that are great for just lounging around in."

why do people say this? do you have clothes you "lounge around" in that are somehow inferior to those you are not lounging in? i dont...

it makes no sense. why buy cheap shit to "lounge around" in when you can buy real clothes to WEAR? just curious

Would you wear your Wings and Horns hoodie to shovel snow? Go to the mail box? Watch the game on TV during winter?

I know I wouldn't wear a nice expensive hoody (well expensive to me) for those reasons.

Urban Outfitters had some nice hoodies by Charles and 1/2 for a while, there. I think I have one somewhere in the dark recesses of my closet...

I gotta agree with the other gents and say W+H. They are just too good for their own good.

If you can afford it you can afford to fuck it up. Its a hoodie, what's the worst that can happen?

^ And I highly doubt a W+H hoodie will easily rip or become damaged. The quality is just too strong. So unless you, like, wrestle lions for a living, I'd say you're fine.

Fubu, Marc echo, Ed hardy. Those are my favorites.

Don't forget Great China Wall. Pretty much the exact same design, just 10x the price. It's awesome!

True enough. Same thing can be said for a suit. It's just a "suit" or any piece of clothing for that matter. To each his own [IMG]

I have a hoodie from Old Navy that I rather like. It fits pretty slim, and it's a really thin, slightly stretchy material. I probably wear it more than my AA hoodie (I haven't had any problems with the zipper on the AA hoodie, but I have on an AA track jacket, which is pretty [IMG]).

I have a W+H, but I think Tim Hamilton makes one that is (at least) on par.

Not sure about previous years' W+H hoodie, but I recently got the 'Archive' terry hoodie from them and think they're overrated for the money. Jcrew vintage hoodie is a good value!

the terry hoodies aren't as incredibly awesome as the tiger fleece ones are.

I have both and like them both a lot, they are just different.

I have worn my uniqlo vintage terry hoodie for about three years now, and it is still holding up.

the tiger fleece is by far the best hoodie i have ever owned though, not even close.

Unfortunately I believe they are all in Canada and the United States... I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong though. Agreed @ the tiger fleece being better than the terry hoody. The terry is very light weight. More spring, fall, summer kind of deal. Not a great winter option, depending on where you live. The tiger fleece is thicker and warmer. Ideally you would find a tiger fleece from a few years back when they a) offered both slim and classic fits and b) used RiRi zippers. I do have a size M classic fit '07 or '08 black tiger fleece (thick) with RiRi, NWOT. The fit is bigger than the tiger fleeces of today as it is the "classic fit" and states it on the tag. Would part w/ as it's too big. (edit; parted with it).

i've got a couple W+H tiger fleece for casual wear and i got this vince hoodie for cheap on gilt recently for schlepping around the house. AA hoodies are ok for schlepping around but i hate how the back of the hoodie is like 4 inches shorter than the front and looks retarded. i've never had issues with the zippers on them so i'm surprised to hear all the backlash about them in here.

Union and Fred Segal in LA used to carry RC...last I check Fred Segal didn't have this past season in stock and I haven't been to Union in a while.

I was at a Crossroads in Seattle a couple weeks ago and they had a shit ton of brand new Reigning Champ pieces (not in my size, of course) with price tags on them. So I assume they came from a retailer in the area trying to unload them. Pretty useless info, sorry.

I own two W+H hoodies, they're the best. Zippers are made by Riri, and much higher quality than the hardware on standard hoodies. I just bought one in the black sueded tiger fleece, and it's great.

Sure, they're about $150, but think about how much you'll wear it. Buy fewer high-quality items that you love, and you'll be happier with your wardrobe. Plus, they have a unique look.

Engineered Garments also makes a good hoodie, I'd check them out too.

Think they stop using RiRi on their hoodies...
