And, no, I'm not still in shock over the Yankees loss.

The Yankees did not choke. Three out of those four games came down to the last at bat. I'm like, 10X more upset that the porno moustache, a la Jeff Kent, is not in style right now.

I guess I don't really mind not winning it this year becuase I've thought of something new to say to my boston friends:

One down, nineteen more to go..

HAHAHAHAHA. You think they didn't choke because it came down to last at bats? That's when people choke pal, when the game's on the line. (Reminds me of a joke - I'll save it for the joke section).

Yankees - laughable. What have you done for me lately? It's been what, 4 years since your last championship? It's been about 12 hours since ours...

Vasquez is younger than Schilling but doesn't have a proven track record as a winner as Schilling does. He also doesn't have a postseason record like Schilling. The Sox were looking to sign a pitcher to a 3 year contract. Who would be better for three years? Schilling.

As for the assertion that the Sox won't be as good, they were a couple innings away from going to the WS last year as well if you didn't remember, and matched up much better against the Marlins than the Yankees did. Florida has also won 2 WS in the past 8 years, only 1 less than the Yankees.

As for the free agents, Varitek should resign for sure, and Pedro may resign as well. Even if they lose Lowe and Pedro, they will have money to sign someone like Pavano, and Arroyo will step into the third starter's role, giving Boston a rotation of Schilling, Pavano, Arroyo, Wakefield, which is arguably better than Schilling, Pedro, Lowe, Wakefield.

Claiming that the biggest collapse in MLB history is not a choke sure sounds like a rationalization to me...

Admitting you have a problem is the first step...
