As I understand it (although I could be wrong), it's not the hat itself that shrinks, but the leather band inside the hat. I've had two Akubras and both have shrunk a bit - but then again, both of them were stockman's hats and I wore both of them hiking/camping/out in the bush so I did sweat quite a lot. If you just wear them around the city and don't sweat as much, the chance of shrinkage might be smaller.

Also, as noted, it is possible to stretch the sweatband out a bit again if it gets too tight.

Buying Coronas is always grim. :D

Sapporos are nice, except in Australia it's Canadian beer you're buying.

Was too lazy to take picks but because everyone is doing it...

Navy self & pinstripe 2B suit (VBC) -- MBT
Light Blue End on End shirt -- Deer
Navy pindot tie -- Henry Bucks
Forest green Barethra braces -- Albert Thurston
" " Cotton OTC socks -- Viccell (winter)
Gladstone 202 black calf -- EG TD
linen pocket square -- Gshen (pre Vanda)

On EG, the 202 isn't overly narrow IME... But then again its the most conservative of EG's lasts.

Also I suppose I'm out of the RTW loop but do people acutally import (new from an offical stockist) that much from brands that have distribution in australia**?

**That are likely to take this kind of action.

Does anyone have any comments re: diffrent acorn fabrics?

Thanks for sharing. They do look nice at that price point. Carmina is more expensive but I wonder how they compare as both are Spanish. Spain got some of the nicest leather

Hey my brother (who lives in Canberra) needs a new pair of jeans. I'm trying to steer him towards something SF approved (selvedge, raw, indigo, straight leg etc.). What brands are available in Canberra that would fit the bill? Thanks

Good to see some smart dress from the investment community, Romp.

Makes a nice change from all the ill-fitting black suits and terrible shoes that can be seen at most briefings/meetings.

I know DJ's carry Nudie jeans and maybe a couple of other 'names' and there is G Star Raw store. There is always 501 and other traditional brands, Wrangler, Lee and even (gasp) Amco.

Got mine from G Star. Slim, medium rise and dark raw but not stiff like cardboard. My perfect jeans.
