    On a lighter note:

I wore my tweed to the function and on the way home on public transport noticed that one of my cuff buttons was undone.

I was surprised to remember that they were functioning buttons, and, that I was probably, inadvertently, enjoying a bit of 'spez'...

    Nice, ovlov! Real nice!

I got the dark brown ones myself. And, they were delivered today so they'll be waiting for me at home. Also entered a competition over the weekend with the Greg Chappell Cricket Centre. Won a Kumar Sangakkara SS bat, which was also delivered today!

Yeah I procrastinated yet again...no idea why buying meanswear causes me such indecision,

When I went to pull the trigger they were gone in my size - Betty tells me they are in production though and will hopefully be available before xmas fresh off the line. The other side effect though is the dollar of course which has dropped so the delay has increased the price by about $60. So yes heres hoping I have some pics to share before the end of the month.

Purchasing is half the fun. It's not like you can go out and buy a new pair of shoes every couple of weeks and the internet is full of pics of thousands of different beautiful shoes. It took me over a month to order my GC DMs and I changed my mind at least a half dozen times. Until 30 min before I sent in my order I was posting on here about my plan to purchase Navy shoes instead. I think I would have loved these shoes in Navy as well but I'm certainly happy with what I got and think they look fantastic and and probably more versatile as Journey Man pointed out.

Are these Cleverleys? Nice colour. I'd use some dark brown polish on them to try and develop the patina a bit too.

+1 to PoP's suggestion about the dark brown polish.

I'd even use navy, black or burgundy. Pretty much any colour you want.

    Yes indeed they are.

Thanks for the advice. My first non-black leather shoe. How would I go about this? go al over of just go over with light brown/tan and then do an extra once over on the caps and sides with the dark brown/navy?

Give them a blast all over with another colour, polish them up a bit and see how it looks. It's all about layers.

I'd just pour beer on them from time to time.

I just shaved for the first time ever.

I'm not very good, but at least I didn't cut myself.

Not often I need to ask an advice question but here goes...

Spending a week at Mollymook over the xmas break with the family, in laws etc. Will mostly be in thongs, shorts or fishing gear but I just want a cheapish pair of espadrilles to wear out for lunches and stuff when we go to a few wineries etc. Any recommendations? I see a few people wearing those Toms. Don't really want to spend more than $50.
