Atkinson Irish Poplin: Pattern & Color ideas?

Lately I have been getting interested in Atkinson's Irish poplin (50% silk and 50% wool) and I am considering ordering some fabric from Ireland for making into custom made / bespoke ties.

They tend to be very traditional with lots of stripes.

What color combinations appeal to you, and how wide do you think the stripes should be?

    Thank you.
