Woah, this Modern Tailor site is rather confusing for a guy like me. Do you guys have a FAQ or Noob Guide somewhere?

Oh, and how do you guys handle buying clothes if you're someone who says...works out? My weight can fluctuate in a 10 lb range depending on if I'm adding weight or shedding fat.

Honestly if you pair it with the right color tie/slacks/accessories, I'm betting that the gray would look awesome. Gray and jeans would look a little bland for me tbh.

If they fit well, looked good, and didn't break the bank, then what's the problem?

If you're up for it, maybe hitting up some thrift stores is a good idea? You can always have shirts darted and pants hemmed if they look good otherwise.

switched my style up to be dhv. I now wear, Hanes vneck, pea coat, trench coat, shirts, loafers, fingerless gloves, jeans, belts, chinos. All expensive clothes. I have black trench coat , and beige trench coat. got a nice multi layered bracelet. Also got an oxblood neckerchief. So is there any other item of clothing I'm missing that is DHV?

I'm looking at buying a few new pairs of dress shoes and was wondering what brands to stay away from and what brands are good value at different price points. I'm also interested in what to look for to get an idea on how to tell what shoes are better quality. Also, what should I look for as far as shoes that can be repaired easily and a cost that is inexpensive. I'm hoping to keep the shoes for several years.

I'm looking to spend around $300-400 per pair but would go to around $750 for the right pair/brand if it offered a significant upgrade and was still good value at that price.

To give you an idea of the style/look I'm looking for I have included some examples.

    1. A black cap toe similar to the Allen Edmonds Fifth Avenue (http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/allen-e...fashionColor=BLACK+CUSTOM+CALF&resultback=589).

    2. Brown double monk straps, preferably with a cap toe. Something similar to the Alfred Sargent for J.Crew (http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/shoes/oxfords/PRDOVR~02801/02801.jsp), though I'm still not certain if that's the exact color I want.

    3. Brown wingtips. I like the look of the Cole Haan Air Madison (http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/cole-ha...p/3554461?origin=category&BaseUrl=Dress+Shoes) quite a bit, but I'm a little skeptical since the sole is not leather.

    Thanks for the help!

I live in London, where its always grey weather.

Hanes v neck is not expensive lol

Peacocking is correct term, not dhv!

Do NOT buy this outfit. No one--other than 6' 10" pro basketball players--wears anything but a two or three-button suit. Four buttons is heinous, even for pro sportsmen. Stay away!

A poppy in November, before Remembrance Day, is NEVER inappropriate.

What shirts are essential in a wardrobe?
As of today, I have these shirts in my wardrobe (I just moved, and I didn't bring all of my shirts):
    1x light green OCBD
    1x sky blue OCBD
    1x university striped blue OCBD
1x university striped light purple OCBD
    1x university striped aqua OCBD
    1x ecru OCBD
    1x denim button down shirt
1x white blue checks dress shirt
1x light blue chambray shirt w/english cutaway collar

As you can see, my collection consists mainly of OCBDs, because I am a student and I don't wear suits or jackets as much as you guys. And I usually dress in jeans, chinos, v-necks or crew necks combined with shirts.
But I would like some advice about what kind of shirts I should invest in.

    Thanks in advance!
