would hemming a pair of pants to where they end above the ankles look "off"? as opposed to buying pants that are cropped to begin with? like, due to the dimensions of the original pair of pants and how they weren't "meant" to end above the ankles or something like that

    dumb questions, i know...

    From darkest to lightest.

Cigar is a more traditional brown.

    Ravello is more orange/reddish brown.

    Whisky is a yellowish brown.

I'm looking to "invest" in a pair of Wolverine 1000 Mile leather boots to go with jeans. Do you think they are practical for urban LA with the mild to hot weather year round without looking ridiculous when most people wear shorts and flip flops in the summer? These boots are no chump change and I want to become my default shoes to get my money's worth. Thanks!

The leg opening would be wider particularly if they are tapered. I had some chinos altered last year and I went to a tailors. They shortened them and took them in slightly from the thigh to compensate.

You want your pants to end above your ankles? I saw that happen a few years ago fashion-wise and unless the guy was short it looked silly, but that's MO

I don't live in LA but in the hot South (90 degree heat in summer) I couldn't imagine wearing leather boots or jeans in the heat

    My question:

I'm 6'6 and Gap's LT size isn't long enough in the sleeve, should I just get XLT and tailor in the chest?

Not practical as your default shoe. Certainly usable when the temp drops (night or winter or whatever).

I live in Seattle where it is wet and cold a lot of the year. Boots are the win for that but even here in the summertime the boots go in the closet.

If you are into the style, think of those wolverines as a long term investment. If you only wear them in cool weather they might last the remainder of your life.

You understand wrong. Also, that would make no sense. It's a coat. Why would you NOT button it.
    Do this ^^.

How can you edit and save your filters on grail-ed?

I'm trying to add designers to my saved filters, but when I add them to my list, they disappear once I hit "apply my filters"

How do I get them to stick? Do I have to reset them completely?

Of course you button up the coat--it's meant to keep you warm. As for applying the sportscoat/jacket rule, that would be like saying that on button-fly trousers, we should leave the bottom button unbuttoned.
