    Hello,

I'm looking for a winter jacket to be worn in casual situations (boots, jeans, t-shirts, button-ups, etc). I live in New England so it should be appropriately warm, but not too warm as I tend to get too hot in heavy jackets. Navy is my preferred color but I might consider another color that works well with most everything. Also, I'd like the jacket to be wearable without being zipped or buttoned-up...which eliminates pea coats or any other double-breasted outerwear. My budget is right around $200-$350. I'm just under 5'11", 180lbs with long legs so really short jackets tend to look a bit silly on me.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've been desperately looking for a (preferably hooded) jacket for everyday wear, like with jeans and t-shirt/casual shirt but I haven't found something interesting. Any help? My budget is slightly above $100. Or more, if it's really worth it. Thank you in advance.

Apart from your regular hoodie a hooded jacket isn't something for typical everyday wear but is rather mostly for colder weather, but if that's the sort of everyday climate you're dealing with then you can't beat a Uniqlo duffle coat or parka in your price range

    What about something without hood?

Well I agree that duffle and parka are not really everyday wear, and they're not very versatile. I'm looking more for something like this: http://m.asos.com/mt/us.asos.com/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3252042

Can anyone recommend a desert boot with a wide foot in a beeswax-type color? I wear 10/10.5 E/EE. Clarks are just too narrow and uncomfortable.

I recently agreed on price to buy an item from a SF user. He suggested, rather than going through Ebay, we should just go straight with Paypal so he can save some money on the Ebay fees. There will be an additional upcharge if we were to go through ebay. Since this is my first time using Paypal exclusively , is there any actual protection from this type of transaction? The user has about 30 posts since creating an account in 2010.

He offered to write me an invoice, but I'm not sure how that works either. Please advise. Thanks.

It depends on how the payment is sent through paypal. You can file a claim with paypal if the payment is sent for merchandise. If it's marked as gift you will have no protection. Ebay is really one-sided on the behalf of buyers. Buyers can essentially file a claim and get a refund for any reason.

Bottom line, I would check the sellers feedback on ebay or with SF's own feedback system to judge whether they are a reputable seller.

How does the fit of older, Made in the USA Chuck Taylors compare to newer, non U.S.-made Chuck Taylors? If I wear a size 10 in a newer, non-U.S.-made version, will a U.S.-made 10 fit me the same?

    Hey all,

So I just got a new job so I need to update my wardrobe a bit. This is the basic look I want to go for:

It's just your basic chino+ dress shirt + shoes. I'm going for the modern business casual look.

I'm just not sure what fit he is wearing and what stores I should check out.

    Are the shoes oxfords?

As long as you have him write an invoice and don't send him the money as PayPal gift you will be fine.

I sold a kid some shoes in this manner, and I was the seller. So he paid me, I sent the shoes, then 3 months later he filed a grievance and I had to present evidence that what I sold was real, was sent, and was delivered.
I supplied the postage receipt, with his name and address, showing weight and dimension as well as cost, insurance, my name and address and his. As well as digital records of the package being delivered AND signed for by the recipient. And I lost. So now the kid has my shoes and got his $150 back.
I'd advise to ALWAYS go through eBay.

There's a difference though in that you were the seller not the buyer. The guy who asked the question is the buyer. Ebay is notorious for always siding with the buyer in disputes. Ebay also owns paypal so I doubt using them would make any difference as opposed to just going through paypal.

Large, for sure. That's about 59cm equivalent; Mediums usually run 56-58cm.
