Anyone ditching Facebook over Timeline?

Really not a fan of this. I don't want to go back to freaking 2005 and edit stupid college posts that I made. Considering de-activating and going to Google+, or just hangin' out on Twitter.

I'm not sure though.

And I'm not sure why you don't expect Google+ to do something similar in the future. Just don't poast **** on the Internet that you wouldn't want your boss or your mother-in-law to see. And if you have poasted rashly in the past you will do it again - you and your Facebook account are like a recovering alcoholic with a bottle of gin stashed in the basement.

Are deleted posts, pictures, etc from the way-back machine visible again? Or are the skeletons in my closet safely secured?

Switched early to timeline like a month ago. After I did so, I considered deactivating but I knew (as I always do), I'd get used to it. It's pretty crappy looking on pc/laptop screen but I think it works for smartphones (at least my Iphone). I think I check my profile less these days though.

I recall reading that you can switch back to the old look. I never liked Timeline, which is why I never switched to it.

I don't mind it. Don't really care. I deactivated facebook for a few weeks over Christmas and didn't mind not having it.

I was creeped out by how easy it is to go back to the beginning so I deleted my account (requires you to go through some menus to delete and then not attempt to login for like 2 weeks) and then made another account. I had been meaning to cull my friend list anyway and this way I get a new friend list and fresh start without the ugliness of high school posts haunting me.
