one of two current
orders i have with
meccariello

i wanted a
'classic' loafer
in the american
style liek sebago
bass weejun
or weston 180
but with nicer materials
and work
but not too dressy..
not a tight and closed
waist

antonio came up
with a last with
a roundish
toe and proportioned
like the classic
loafers

i chose one of
his old stock leathers
from a company called
pebody in northampton
(now closed)
it is a hand curried (?)
and hand finished leather
and bears the 'willow' like
grain
(not like eg's willow grain
which i believe is
a stamped pattern)
all the skins are
halves
this one is about 40-50 yrs
old

here is a photo
he sent me
of the leather

Yes, just mentioned it as it was compared to Goodyear welted G&G Deco.

How does Meccariello compare to Jan Kielman? Both are at tempting price points for semi-bespoke/bespoke. Is there a reason to choose one over the other?

Damn. Do you buy a new pair every week? When did you buy your first reasonable pair?
