holy shi*, gdl, these are great! i assume Vass? Any details? (how old, last, etc.)

Yes - Vass U lasted oxford boots, no speed hooks, double R sole tapering to single at waist, Italian polish oxblood calf. Had been worn a few times before the picture.

Chaps, this is on e-bay at the moment.

Must be a special order or something - Cheaney don't have this boot as one of their regular lines. I'm not keen on the colour or the stitched detail on the side, but it's tempting.

Did it take any arm twisting to make VASS agree to this pattern? I found them very inflexible when it comes to MTM boots.

Absolutely not. I was never told no to any of my specs - I find them very flexible (at least for a cowboy boots store)

I really hope Tom decides to order them again. Is that a double sole?

    I agree....great looking boot.

Question though.....I get requests for Maracca or Sand suede fairly regularly as MTO, but I never really do it for stock as I have a hard time figuring how it will be worn. So, how do you hook up this color?

Ron, I think they would look great with a pair of jeans. I also think the right pair of olive pants, with a sweater and tweed type jacket would be great around the office. I'd have a hard time wearing them with a suit, but it could be done with the right suit, if it was dressed down with a mock turtleneck or something like that.

Yeah, I've tried to see it with denim, but I fall back to snuff, polo brown or chocolate....have a hard time going for thelighter colors. Maybe I'll try a few....who knows.

Autocrat's suede is very, very close to that I believe.

Stunning! These would look great with Howard Yount's oatmeal-colored flannels or stone khaki's. Really nice boots.

My father made this pair of ankle boot for me. I think it will be wonderful with a pair of jeans.

I think those boots would go quite well with a pair of dark jeans or white khakis.
