Looking for a black, captoe shoe to wear with suits. I like the Park Ave but its a little too pointy at the end, even in e width, for my feet. Any suggestions for alternatives? Thanks.

I suppose if you didn't want it on the forum, you'd let it sink.

I went to an AE store and tried on several sizes and widths.

Feel free to keep bumping it.

Okay, to the OP, I'll play house idiot here.

AE are considered the least pointy / most blobby of the reasonable shoe brands. I actually like them. I find Lobb, Green, Loake, (nemmine the Italians) way too pointy. I don't need me no shoe I can keep my gerbil up there in the toe 'till I (ahem) need him.

AE too pointy? Try Doc Martens.

Doesn't matter what the reason, I'm just glad soundsgood is moving away from the ugly AEs. My recommendation as always: Sutor Mantellassi. But that tend to be a bit narrow and even 'pointier'.

Joseph Cheney lasts are a bit more roomy.

FYI, you should only choose a different width for fit reasons. The different widths do not exist to meet stylistic preferences, they are there to accommodate different sized feet.

They can look somewhat pointy like a dolphin nose sort of pointy in certain pictures.
