How would these look with jeans? For 150 after coupon, seems like a good deal.

Depends on the jeans, as well as the shirt, whether you're wearing a sport jacket....

Most likely with Raw Denim of some sort or jeans with a dark finish. I am eyeing the brown. I think these would look great as a casual shoe.

I can't get past the seam on the Taunton's front. I never noticed it until I read that damn RM Williams thread. Now it is all I notice about the Taunton.

assuming you are wearing pants, it's not noticeable.

Ebay, sometimes (which is where I got mine). But yeah, it was only available for a year or two.

I got mine in black on ebay and like them a lot ($159 when live was doing $30 cashback, so I was pretty happy with about $120 shipped out of pocket). The truth is I actually like a rounder toe on my chelseas, but they are a nice shoe, and they'll get a lot of use. I'll go for a wider toe when I get around to ordering my RM Williams in brown.

There you go again with those wild, unfounded assumptions.

Allen Edmonds still has a handful left in their system for closeout prices. You can try calling into the shoe bank and ask if they have your size.

Sorry to revive a thread...but would anyone know which last this boot was built on?

I am looking at a pair of older AEs in the Buy&Sell forums...they are 8.5D. The only point of reference I have is a pair of Tauntons I tried on (9d) which fit quite well but I know fit can vary depending on the last.

As an English shoe enthusiast from London (and seller) new to styleforum, may I ask how these American brands such as AE compare to the British made shoes? Perhaps the styling is more contemporary in a lot of cases but are they made very well? I may order some to the UK to see for myself. Where can one buy them at a fair price? Oh and I can get wide fit shoes easily for all Northampton makes but certainly it is the medium/ average fit that most people have here. Many thanks.
