I have the exact model and love them. Remarkably comfortable. I think its the unlined upper. Looks great with the blue laces. Have you ever tried some colored flat waxed laces in them?

Alas, today I am wearing the Yuma's. I have a pair of Wolverine 1000 Mile boots but reading this thread everyday somehow magically gravitates my mind to my collection of AE's. That and I'm originally a WI boy so I feel like an expat supporting his old economy.

Glad to see this thread get back on track, and love the recent pictures!! Although MWS and KMD as always provided a lot of great reading, and when I have time I might still add my 2 Cents worth. Or not.
I also use the Jeffersonvillle Outlet exclusively for seconds, they are great in my experience. And have a sale going until 4/30 where you get 20% off one item per day. That puts shell seconds at $360. I think it is time for me to get an updated list of what is available.....
Congrats! IMO most shoes are normally in stock or readily available except for shell which is MTO and webgems which are also MTO. Demand of course can change that.

Wish I would have known about the CEO being there, would love to meet him and shake his hand and thank him. About a year ago I emailed him about a getting a custom made Dundee in truffle shell. Next day the most senior person at AE called me and apologized that Paul was traveling and couldn't call me?! She spent half an hour on the phone with me making sure I would be happy with the color and that they would fit going over my past order history. Checking how they fit on every thing I had ever purchased, and said apparently I wasn't going to go bare foot any time soon :) And that Paul had authorized for me to have what ever I wanted made up including the Dundee in every shell color that was available. How cool is that? I took him up on the offer and got all 5. You know those burgundy shell Leeds are one of my favorite shoes to this day. NewShoes1 mentioned a few days ago about how versatile they are and I agree with him, I wear those or my burgundy Dundee's (basically same thing) at least once a week.

And just got this in an email as I was typing:

I'm in the market for loafers, leaning toward a penny not tassel My questions are:

    1) Will burgundy give me more versatility or should I look for dark brown?
    2) I'm planning on wearing with darker jeans, khakis, perhaps linen pants for summer. What are the thoughts on the Presidio's? I like the shape from the longer last. I am between a 10.5D and 10. Size down on the 222 last to the 10D?

I really appreciate all the feedback from this thread. I read daily and one of these days I will post my collection.

Yeah, the fact that this is the sixth straight month that we've had snow makes me reconsider some of my life choices...
I was really blown away by the leeds - I'll have to add those to my list of shoes to be on the lookout for (along with the daltons, macalesters, patriots, fifth streets, etc).
    I need more money.

I just placed an order for a pair of Shell Cordovan Black Park Aves from Shirley at the Shoe Bank in Port Washington. On Sunday last week she said they appeared to be seconds because one had a bit of a different finish than the other. Probably all that creme they use on them. She sent them over to have them refinish them, and she said they look great. I can't wait to get them.

Take a look at Rancourt & Co. beefroll pennies in CXL. I think they are better looking than anything AE has to offer in the loafer space.

Thank you much! I frequently get compliments for my footwear, by both customers and co-workers. But there a couple managers who shop at Marshalls and such who make the same bowling/golf cracks over and over as if the next time they say it it will be amusing. There was a customer who complained about my orange socks last week which coordinated with my tie. He didn't buy because he couldn't manage a manual transmission, also he had a perm.

They are listed at $449, but Shirley is checking for me to see what the 20% discount is that the Jeffersonville outlet is offering, to see if she can apply it to mine. Which would make them $360. Either way, good deal. It was the one and only in my size.

Shirley got me the discount. An additional 20% off making them $360. :)

Question for those who own Daltons and any 5 last shoes. Have you guys needed to size up by a half in order to get a proper fit on the Dalton? I measure about a 8.5d in a brannock device. I wear a TTS in strand and mcallister, after breakin they fit very well. I have a pair of Daltons in the same size. The boots feel noticeably narrower, granted the daltons are not as broken in as my 5 Last shoes. I did try the Daltons in an E Width, but they seemed too loose at the widest part of the foot and the heel was loose as well, to get them to fit decently I would have to lace them tight.

I know breaking in the Daltons will solve some of my fit problems but would going up half a size be a better fit. I could use a smidge more length in the toes and more width/volume in the rest of the shoe for a more comfortable fit.

Im considering getting the Spiaggia. A couple of people have posted a few pics of them and I simply havent seen a bad looking pic of them yet. And it looks as though they have the effect of a very clean white tennis shoe, only better.

Is this a normal event by this website? Never heard of it before, but 50% is insane!
