I went dark brown, Dainite sole. Oxblood too red for my taste. Very pleased[IMG]

Guess that's what I meant. They had an odd feel to them.

I finally got mine yesterday. Ordered them from J'ville at $219--a steal. Apart from some mild creasing on one (probably from some aggressive trying-on), they're flawless.

Do Strands look bad in any color? Never seen a well kept pair that I didn't like.

    Hello all

I was recently fortunate enough to snag some new AE McClain seconds in dark brown off eBay for under $100. My goal is to polish them to a burgundy/oxblood hue. Any advise of how to do this stricly with polish/creams? Would AE's shoe polish in a tube be a good place to start or is everyone of the opinion that I would be wasting my time?

    Thanks.

I was in the same position couple of days ago and decided to go with the dark brown. After I looked at them in the store, I thought oxblood was too flashy in this style for my taste.

A question for those that are familiar with the AE MTO program. I am thinking ordering the dark chili Daltons with Dainite sole. I am aware that there is a $40 charge for sole change. I may also need to go with customs size. What is the charge for this?

    Thanks

It's not a true MTO just a custom sole (I think I paid $50 extra). I basically did the same thing just in Oxblood. I'll check my receipt when I get home.

Title goes to the Dundee for me, would love a pair in burgundy, natty and bottle green shell. Strand and McAllister are amazing to me but find their way into my rotation far less. The Dundee is my most worn and most comfortable pair of AE, happen to be wearing them today.

No replies yesterday, so I will ask again:

Not being a "boot guy" I will throw this out to the forum. I found some new blue Cronmoks with the red laces for $119. I forgot to look to see if they are firsts or seconds, so assume they are second quality. What is the reputation on the boot and is this price good, bad, about right or "crazy good?" All opinions are welcome.

You have to like that boot...price is good but not all find that boot appealing...if I recall it is a balmoral casual leather boot. Firsts or seconds regardless it really comes down to if you like it.

And I do not say that to detract from the boot..I am the only person that likes the Morgan Blue brush off shoe...
