I'm wearing my Oxblood Strands right now fresh off a Sunday night cleaning and polishing. I'll snap a picture later on today when I can get outdoors.

FWIW, this is my favorite AE shoe that I own. It is incredibly good looking. Women toss their undergarments at me whenever I walk down the street in my Strands. Children cower in fear and secretly hope they can be like me when they're older.

All this can be yours when you buy a pair of Oxblood Strands. Get on it. Get. On. It.

The shell loafers that I cleaned last night. Only can get a few wears before fall. Interestingly enough, second warmest september on record here in WI so far.

RDA starts today, right? Does the AE site usually reflect the sale prices or not? (Didn't see anything on their site.) Any word on corresponding seconds being discounted as well?

It actually starts Sept 25; don't know about the seconds.

Thanks for the clarification, Ritchie. I received the email about it, but not the actual catalog. (Wondering if this might have to do with the possible AE contact list issues discussed earlier by a few posters.)

Guess this gives me 2 more days to talk myself out of a purchase.

I am thinking of getting the Clark Street in natural CXL. Do you find it easy to pair with business casual look, or is it relegated to casual only? I have the chili LaSalle, which is very versatile. It seems to have the same design, but is obviously different leather and color.

I love my natty Clark Streets!! Because of the color and CXL, they look less dressy than the LaSalle. I wear them mostly with jeans or chinos, but have mixed in some trousers.

I have that shoe and I do not do business casual but I would imagine new it would be harder to pair as from what I read lighter shades of shoes are tougher to do in a business enviroment. However they will darken over time and probably be pretty flexible for you.

Some in the wild shots, @cc808314 ... As you can tell, mostly casual pairings.

I have been looking at the brown grain Dundee and the wait is over. My local menswear / shoe store got a new batch of AE's in today and they had the brown grain Dundee in my size. They squeak a little, but I'm thinking some conditioning / polishing will take care of that.

Here are the pics - sorry but I only had my cell phone with me

This is the recently departed RL x AE Sanderson. Probably on the 222 last. Narrow looking (for an AE build) but surprisingly tolerant of my high instep. Note that though an LWB, it has a flat welt. Darker than the pic suggests, in a pinch it could be worn with a suit.

I'm not sure if any are still floating around. Glad I got these.

Sorry about the poor photo quality. Was outside and realized I was late for a meeting. Snapped it while I could. [IMG] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think the answer to "how do Strands look in X color?" is always the same: they look great. Except for black. I just can't wrap my head around black Strands because all of the detail and depth just disappears leaving a really great looking shoe looking boring (but maybe that's just my general aversion to black shoes coloring my opinion).

FWIW I have a pair in Bourbon that I adore. I'm thinking of snapping up another pair during the RDA sale and am vacillating between Oxblood and Walnut. Any thoughts on the Dainite sole version? Will it look better with the Oxblood since the Dainite is black only?

Are those the Normandy boots? I've been eyeing those. How'd they seem in person?
