I take the same but some people prefer to size up in widith from the 5 last to the 8 last. It really depends on how tight the 5 last is on your foot.

I second this. I had no problems with 9D on the 5 last, but when I first tried on a 9D on the 8 last (blind purchase online), I thought "oh crap, this is too narrow." But after wearing them indoors a few more times, I felt they stretched enough to where it wasn't uncomfortably narrow.

Damn fine shoes. I really wish I had kept the black welt and edge on mine.

I just received my burgundy shell MacNeils in the mail from Altman's. They seem a bit old because the box had the old AE label on it. They fit nicely, and were a steal for $340. I can see them getting a lot of wear in my rotation.

I have these same shoes - my favorite pair of "dress" AE's!

Mine have the "buff" welt. It looks cool and all, but I prefer black now. More versatile.

Want to get a pair of versatile shoes. Jeans, chinos, slacks for work. Laid back work environment. Thinking about walnut kenilworths, strands, or brown neumoks. What do you guys suggest? Thanks.

Worried that the kenilworths have no brogueing and will make the shoe look too light.

I got these during the anniv sale but only took them out of the box today. Symptoms of too much shoes I guess

Laid back? Brown Strandmoks, Rush streets, or something in Oxblood. Strands are good looking, Oxblood or Bourbon. I do find a lighter welt to be awesome with denim and more casual. Also love all things suede

Kenilworth is too plain, wouldn't be my choice if wearing denim and casual khakis. I too have a relaxed dress code and it gives you a lot of options to have fun with shoes

Lots of boots also work. Gobi being on my list for casual.
