I'm guessing only certain customers got it - e.g., the ones who haven't bought anything lately.

Unrelated to the current sale, but I bought a pair of black grain Sanibels as a travel loafer ($125 on Amazon in my slightly unusual size) and, for something nondescript and easy on/off, these are great loafers.

By any chance, does anyone know who supplies Allen Edmonds with its calf skin? I'm doing a school supply chain project and I'm hoping to do it on Allen Edmonds.

Does anyone know Paul's SF username so I can ask him directly?

For those that say the 8 last is narrower, would you recommended going up a width from your 5 last ?

Well the hump in my Pine Rivers was not very comfortable, so the went back!

Much to my wife's pleasure (again… she picked out the Shaker Heights for me) I decided on the white Spiaggia. Very scared about how these will wear in real life as I don't live in a bubble and they will certainly get dirty.

They came in looking pretty good, the only issue is the black marks on the back which I was told about and also the welts around the toes aren't even.

Hopefully these work out to be another great pair of AEs. Enjoy the pics!

I don't see how it is narrower. I compared Delray 10D vs my Park 10D while the sole is narrower on the Delray there is a lot more Leather on the vamp. As result there is much more room.

YMMV. I tried going from a 12D to an 11.5 E, but it was way too wide and my heel was swimming. Others have reported the same experience, which is why the 8 last either works for you or it does not. Speaking of which, I have a pair of brown Delrays that I used to love gathering dust. Need to finally cut the cord and put them on B&S with my other shoes that do not fit how I would want them to.

Is the cambridge the shell version of the jefferson?

No. Both are shortwing balmorals however they have subtle differences. The Cambridge has a double sole while the Jefferson only has a single Indy sole (a thicker one though there was a separate discussion a few pages back regarding this topic). The Cambridge also uses a separate piece of leather for the eyestays that wraps around the shoes top line whereas the Jeffersons eyestays and quarters is a single piece of leather.

But if you MTO the cambridge in shell with indy material, then we're looking at the same shoe right?

No, there are differences in the design. The Jefferson has no perforations along the throat, the eyelet flap is the same piece of leather as the side.

I may be crazy, but I could have sworn the Jefferson was on the 2 last. Just looked it up and it said 5 last. Am I crazy?

I think you're getting it mixed up with the WIlliams longwing which is part of the indy collection on the 2 last.

In AE parlance, are "white suede" (i.e. Player) and "white nubuck" (i.e. Spiagga) the same material or different (which in theory they should be)?
