Burgundy is the ideal color for shell.

They would have been mine but I already have the McAllister in burgundy. That shoe looks .......speachless....

I opted for the Cordovan Brown Strand... I also tossed in the Cordovan Burgundy Randolph. They are sitting at UPS as I wasn't home when they attempted to deliver. I will have them both tomorrow. Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock

I am very content with my brown shell cordovan Strands and burgundy shell cordovan Cambridges. They will be a nice "in-betweeners" from my sleeker Northampton shoes and casual Alden shell cordovan collection.

If a pair of burgundy shell cambridges arrived on my doorstep, I do believe I would go outside, walk up to the first person I saw, look them dead in the eye and say shit like: "you're fired...now get out of my office.". Just for the hell of it

    or

shit like "I want the full proposal for the Meyer project on my desk by 9 am sharp tomorrow morning"

It's for my sister's wedding which is why I'm a little more eager to bust out the Walnut Strands as opposed to a more conservative brown punch cap. I don't have the suit that I am planning on wearing yet.

I really like the burgundy cambridge, but there is none in my size. Is the cordovan sale only on factory seconds?

They were also having a sale on firsts for $399. Not sure if the Cambridge was included.

    jeust0999,

Call your favorite outlet store and see what they can get you. The way it was explained to me, the seconds in shell are $299, firsts in shell are $399, but only on what they have in-stock. Good luck!

All the AE shoes for Brooks Brothers have that sole and heel treatment, I think, so you can differentiate them from Aldens and others.

Those shell Cambridge are absolutely awesome!

This morning I just ordered a pair of walnut shell Strands because I like the color of my walnut shell Dalton's so much. After seeing those shell Cambridge I know what my next shoe is going to be. bucksfan your a terribly bad influence! [IMG] And thanks for sharing once again. Kicking myself for not getting the Dundee now.

Wow those Cambridges look awesome. When I ordered my Walnut shell Strands I was debating between the Cambridge and the Strands. My only reservation with the Cambridge was the proportion of the medallion portion of the shoe to the rest of it.

Thanks! Sorry to be such a bad influence [IMG]

Also, FYI - the proverbial "little birdie" told me that the Dundees may be back in the fall. (it was the top seller of the 3 cappuccino shoes, selling roughly 10x as many as each of the other two). Also, I bet a few seconds might pop up in about a month, after they do all the production runs.

Thanks - I see what you are saying, but I actually think the proportion is about right (at least on my size - 12D - other sizes may be a bit off).

... Or richer (depending on how you look at it...) If you try the argument my wife tries with me - well, "it was on sale for 40% off, so I bought 3!" [IMG]

Thanks all for the kind comments. I am obviously really happy with them!

I have a quick question regarding sizing. I know on the website it says the specific measurement increases for going up a half size and a width in length and wide respectively, but I am wondering if there is a width increase while going up a length size. for example, does the width increase going from a 9D to 9.5D, or just the length? Thanks for your help (from someone with serious 5 last sizing issues)
