Awesome. I'll throw in a bag of Zapp's Cajun Crawtators for free.

I can definitely agree with this. IMO, the 3 last doesn't work as well on the captoe or the wholecut. I have the larchmont and dont think it looks bad with a wingtip or longwing, but it would be nice if they softened the squareness of the toe a little bit.

I like the fact that they were trying to create a sleeker chisel last like you see most Euro makers have, but don't think it worked quite as well as hoped.

Hi Fellas - I'm new to the forum and didn't know about the ShoeBank prior to hearing about it here. So first of all, thanks for enabling me to spend more money on shoes. I'm already 3 pairs deep from the ShoeBank and am considering a pair of shell. Does the ShoeBank offer the $299/pair on shell very often, or is the current sale a special situation? Any help would be appreciated.

a couple of quick questions/confirmations if anyone can help out:

    • Does anyone have an opinion on the McAdam boot?
Since I'm returning two pairs of wrong-sized Daltons for a decent credit, I was considering adding to my next order with McAdams to cheaply replace their colors.

I lurked here for a while before beginning to post, but just to make sure I've understood the thread correctly,
    • for Style Forum members who call Allison for MTO, if a make up can be done, there's no custom fee and the price is at the current listed price? so, e.g. on the McAdam I could get merlot and bourbon pairs for the current sale price $199 each MTO?
    {I'm thinking of them as a northeast foul-weather winter boot so they need not be the best/perfect boot ever, though I would also want them made with mini lug rubber soles.}

I have previously talked with Allison on the phone, maybe being lucky to get right through on the first tries, but haven't been able to reach her the past two weeks. During that time I sent e-mail of MTO considerations (replying to a special order e-mail receipt), and the phone call would be to confirm the order specifics of the e-mail once I ever reach her again (so I never expected a reply).
    • Does anyone have experience if she's good at replying to e-mails since I haven't been able to reach her on the phone, or is she usually too swamped or possibly extra busy right now because of sales?

The current Shoe Bank sale appears to be twice a year -- with the second run around August? They have a 2 for $250 at the end of Feb but think that is closeouts only.

I'm sure this has been asked a hundred times, but what is the fit like on the Long Branches? Or should I say, how should I size them?

Navy and grey neumok from the mlb Webgems promo. The navy is not distressed like the everyday neumok, and the grey is shinny.

Thinking about all white neumoks, my wife has been bugging me to get a pair... Wish the MacNeil was a 199 Webgems

First post on Styleforum (long time lurker on this thread), but finally registered because I've had this same problem.

Here is my experience with sizing up two sizes.

I'm a 14.5B/14B (right/left -- as sized on a Brannock by AE), and bought a pair of Fifth Street boots in 14B on the sales associate's recommendation. They did not have the shoes available for me to try on, so I waited 4 weeks for the shoes to be made and shipped to me. When they arrived, the left foot fit great, but the right foot was unbearably tight on the toes. Since 14C is a special makeup (which I was told was non-returnable -- not sure if true), I opted to exchange for a 14D. The right foot now fits great, but left foot is slightly too roomy. However, for both pairs, there is too much room at the top of the laces and around the ankles. I don't have any heel slip (believe it or not), but the boot seems slightly too big around the ankles. I compensate by wearing slightly thicker socks.

I'm thinking all white with a natural welt. Just requested a few different swatches to get an exact color for some of the colors. I wish suedes were included.

Congrats on your new shell loafers! I'm also looking forward to warm weather and the chance to finally start wearing loafers again, it can't come soon enough [IMG]

    I

I got mine true to size and they fit perfectly. Very comfortable boot.

On a different note, does anyone know if AE will recraft BB shoes? There is a pair of brown BB Park Aves at the shoebank I want to pull the trigger on...

Thanks! Y'know, a year or two ago I wasn't sure what you meant about "old" burgundy shell vs. "new" burgundy shell -- but with these it's blatantly apparent. They've got so much more of a ruby tone than my boots and gunboats. It's gorgeous.

They've got burgundy shell Leeds in my size as well, also from at least three years ago. I may have to make another purchase in six months at the next $299 sale.

I wouldn't be so sure there will be another such shell sale. All signs point to shell becoming much more scarce going forward. Horween just can't get the horse butt like they used to be able to. If I were you and I wanted those Leeds, I'd dig deep and get them now. Just my $.02.

I agree. While not definitive, my SA from the shoe bank mentioned that it was unlikely shell would ever be this price again. She pointed to the fact that their shell retail price has gotten higher over the past few months.
