I just got a replacement pair of Park Avenues and I think they have become warped from sitting so long. When I put them on they buckle out to the side at the spot they are stretched out. Any way to fix this or should I return them? The right shoe is fine, but you can see the stretched out area on the left near the opening.

Did you make any changes to the "standard" setup?

Are there any sellers that reliably have good discounts on Allen Edmonds? Until now I have mainly worn Johnston & Murphy (which don't get much love here, but which I have found to be far more durable than the other brands in their price range). I am looking to upgrade to AE, but the full $350-level price range is a bit much for me. Where's a good place to find them at discount?

If you know your last/sizing call the shoe bank (262) 785-6666, it's their outlet... Pricing is reasonable & they frequently have 2 for $250 sales... If you don't know your last/sizing, that would be the first step...

AE ShoeBank, AE Freeport, ME Outlet, AE Jeffersonville, OH Outlet, etc. all sell seconds (second quality shoes) at steep discounts. They also have frequent sales. Google their phone numbers and call to request a list of shoes in your size(s).

Keep an eye on their web site for specials (they just finished one) and also consider eBay.

I like them & almost pulled the trigger on them... Beautiful color... Was looking for a casual boot & ended up with the ashbury Chelsea boot instead... I felt the medallion made them just too dressy for what I was looking for... I would suggest (and did myself) go down a half shoe size from your 5 last size (went down to a 9d from my standard 9.5d)

The bay is another option I forgot about... I have had really good luck with the seller hitch-n-post...

On a similar note; AE themselves used to list shoes on the bay didn't they?!? Do they still?!?

    I have two quick questions

    1) Does anyone know when the next 2 for $250 sale will be? I am hoping for something near-ish to Christmas

    2) Do people normally size down for loafers? I am a 12D in the 1-last and the 2-last. Should I be looking at more 12D, or 11.5D. This would be my first pair of loafers.

Amazon, AE Outlet, AE sales (about two big ones a year), and Nordstrom sales of course

No, they do not. I am not sure they ever did either, but I might be wrong. Trickers does that though.

They did, but haven't since 2010 apparently... I did a little research after posting my question:

Hmm. They're on 6pm in a half size larger than my 5 last shoes. But I think I've been buying shoes a half size too small... So they would be my correct 5 last size

Give them a try... YMMV... I just found a lot of slippage with my TTS 5 last size...

Would you go for a Bayfield in Brown Cordovan and a Mora 2.0 in Burgundy Cordovan
    or the other way round, i.e.;
Bayfield in Burgundy Cordovan and Mora 2.0 in Brown Cordovan?

I snagged a pair of Mctavish seconds in dark brown cognac yesterday at the Port Washington, WI factory outlet store. I have four pairs of Mctavish:
Black wax infused, natural wax infused, the discontinued distressed brown, and now the cognac. The only color that I'm missing is the new dark brown crackle leather, which I think that I'll be able to live without.
