    Hi guys,

I have some trouble with choosing the right pair of jeans. My problems are a result of me being a bicycle racer (I'm a sprinter) since about 25 years. I have extremely muscular thighs and calves.

Skinny jeans are impossible, I can't pull them over my calves. A "regular" jeans fits me like a skinny, but I can't sit in them. My jeans size is 32/32. Right now I fit into a Levi's 529, but these are dicontinued, so no option any more.

I ordered a Nudie Fast Freddy Raw, it fits, but also dicontinued stuff from ebay... :-(

Can you tell me about some jeans that are more on the wide legged side? I can't believe that I'm the only one with muscles on his legs... I mean, come on, if a man has done some exercise for more than 5 minutes in his life, he can't wear skinny jeans, eh?

What I am looking for is raw jeans, if possible selvage, if possible no more than 150$.

I'm located in Germany, but usually spend about 3 months or more per year in the States, so feel free to suggest some America-only products.

    Thank you,
    Andy

How much do you want to spend? Selvage or doesn't matter?

I squat regularly and was born with large thighs, so I feel your pain.

You have a few options, actually. You could just try the next size up (34/32) and wear those with a belt, assuming you do not have a below-average hip measurement already.

In Sweden, at least, there's a Nudie Jeans model called Sharp Bengt that is their widest available. I managed to fit into these for my regular size, and I believe you may as well. You can try looking around in jeans stores for "comfort" brands, but you may not have as much luck. If you don't mind wearing lower-quality jeans, more budget-variant stores (not sure what they would be in Germany, so I shall refrain from mentioning any names) will likely have a larger proportion of "comfort-fit" jeans for heavier-set folks - these work just as well for people who simply have large legs.

They're out there. There are many, many brands - most mainstream names will have at least one, in fact. You'll just need to pay attention (and loot at the leg shape - "carrot-like" works).

    Thank you guys.

    Yes, selvedge would be nice.

Buying a size too large wont be an option, because of my cycling I have large thighs and calves but a very small waist. Even the 32 pants could be 30 or lesser, but then the legs again would be too narrow.

I bought 7 pairs of them Levi's 529 a few years ago while on vacation in Florida, but my supply lasts me maybe another year until the end. So now I'm on the hunt for new jeans.

Tried the Edwin Nashville 33/32 yesterday. So far, so good, but the narrowness in the calve area ir irritating. Each time I stand op from a chair I have to pull the pants back down, they won't glide down by themselves.

Maybe in a few days, the fabric of this jeans is quite rigid, after breaking them in it might get better.

Yeah we see a lot of guys in our shop with muscular/wide thighs and they end up buying bigger waist jeans to accommodate. But they hate it when it bunches the top of the jeans up at the waist.

I ride mt bikes and have big thighs... I sized up one on a couple of slim straight fit jeans including the Nudie Slim Jim and it worked out pretty good, but the Sharp Bengt looks great and is available in selvage for about $100 more than Andreas' budget... but there are deals to be had on ebay.
