What's the quality like on APC's wool outerwear?

There are a couple shearling wool jackets on Gravitypope that look really nice.

Pretty fucken nice. I got a blousen style jacket and a overcoat and the quality is pretty high-- soft touch, wool/cashmere blend, one produced in France and the other somewhere in Eastern Europe.

Just got my APC New Standard noir (f/w 2012) and wanted to share some info.
First of all, these are made in Macau so I'm just going to assume that they don't make them in Japan anymore, as opposed to the 2011 models. Regarding the sizing on these, they fit TRUE TO SIZE. I bought a size 28 and they measure 14" across the waist, so I don't advise sizing down 2-3 like you would on the indigo ones.
I sized down only 1 to account for stretch (my waist is 29").

Quality-wise, they are decent (tidy stitching, decent construction) but not amazing. I wouldn't pay full price for these.

Hope this helps some of you.

I'm surprised there isn't a comparison list or more people who have compared different brands/models to APC fits.

Well, if anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated.

Needed a pair of beater jeans and went for the Levis 513. My true size is 30, but I wear a 32 to give me a bit more room in the thighs/box, but I've got smaller calves (genetics). I like the 513 fit, but the calves...I'd love for them to taper more below the knees. I figure the PS would be the ideal fit, and if the PNS was still around, it would be perfect with more room in the box/thighs and the taper/fit in the calves of the PS.

Now the question is, I'm still training so I expect my thighs to grow a bit more. If the PS are the ideal fit, do I size down from my true size, or from the size 32 513s I'm wearing? I'm just really worried about the thighs.

Finding the perfect fit with APCs isn't an exact science as everyone has different body types and has different ideas of what they think is the perfect "fit." I would suggest ordering multiple sizes and even take some pictures and post them on this thread so we can get a better idea of your body shape.

Also if you're sizing up 2 from your waist size just to get more room in your thighs, I don't know if PS are the right jeans for you

Pretty much this. If you have to size up in jeans in order to accomodate for your thighs, then the PS is probably not for you. Most people here actually size down in order to get a perfect fit after some stretch. If you really want to try APCs, I'd suggest the New Standard or the Rescues.

Also, wearing tapered jeans like the PS when you have muscular thighs usually looks kinda weird. Looks like a carrot...

All right, you dream killers. I started measuring and really taking a look at my jeans/body.

Guess I was wrong and my waist is now measuring out at a 31, so a size up of 1 to the 513.

    Measured the 513s tagged at a 32 x 34:

Waist: 33 (sags and I am wearing a belt)
    Rise: 10.5
Thigh: 11 (I can afford to lose 1 to 1.5 inches before it starts to hug my thighs)
Knee: 8 (roomy all the way down from here to my ankles after this, I can afford to lose 2 - 3 inches on my calves before the jean starts to hug them)
    Leg opening: 7.5

I tried finding reliable measurements for PS but every site I visit seems to be off.

I'm plagued with awkward genetics and really slender legs below the knees; calves don't want to grow.

Groves, I am pretty much in the exact same situation as you. I am a true 31.5-32, and I have bigger thighs and smaller calves. I ordered a size 30, which has an 11 inch thigh, 8 inch knee, and 7 inch leg opening. Once I got them I brought them to a reliable tailor and got the knee brought in a little bit. I got it taken down to 7.7 inches, which you would think not make a huge difference but it really does. I would say doing this would be your best bet if you want to get a pair of APC's.

So I am into 1.5 months of regular wear of my APC New Standard. So far the jeans are still kinda stiff and a little bit uncomfortable to wear. Would they ever get soft and comfortable? I feel like I am getting no where with these jeans.

louis w. apc ferris army jacket looks like a nicer bomber though. It is quite similar to the TOJ in that it uses nice super 120s wool outer shell.
